The fact is that even the Swans hierarchy don't know who'll be delisted at the moment. They can't until trade week is over. The practically certain promotion of Barlow, plus likely promotion of at least one of Jack and Brennan, plus lack of voluntary retirements, means that it's in Sydney's interests to trade its players for draft picks (rather than other players).

There are too many variables to know who will go. But I'd be surprised if all 4 of JBolt, NOG, Bucky and Schneider are lining up for the Swans next year.

Assuming that Phillips wants to stay (rumour has it that is not the case) I also think we'd probably not delist both of these.

I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Two zeros, one on top of the other and touching.

          Or alternatively, upright infinity.

Brennan is not on the list, so cannot be delisted.

What a crock of @@@@. His game vs the Weagles: 17 posessions, 6 marks, 4 tackles was actually his best game this year (stats wise). Very similar to Boltons on that night.

He average 11.9 posessions in his 17 games this year which isnt too bad for a young fella.

And its not like we are brimming with defensive talent in the 2nd tier of players.

Mate, you obviously didn't see that game so you're basing your judgements on stats. I was there that night, and he was ordinary. He dropped SIMPLE marks and fumbled on numerous occasions, not to mention giving away clumsy free kicks which resulted in eagles goals. If that was "actually his best game this year" then how he managed to hold his spot in the side is beyond me.

Statistics often don't tell the story.

Touche. i guess stats dont always tell the whole story. no i didnt see the game, well i may have seen a bit of it but i was pretty drujnk in Alexandria by then (and sick of hearing the girls comment on how buff Cousins' arms were).

I still think Bevo is well worth keeping though.

It's not hard to rack up stats if you play without an opponent in the backline.

Bevan not now or the future

Hammo, the simple truth about Bevan is that his skills and tactical knowhow will never get better.

No one is arguing about his heart or team spirit but he simply will not get better.

When you watch him, he is like Matthews, eyes on his direct opponent and nothing else. The better players have peripheral vision and know what is happening around them to make a better decision.

Look at what Matthews did in the last seconds of that Brisbane game, just obeyed orders blindly when he could have chosen the better option of tackling or smothering Power who kicked the ball which Brown marked.

I personally think Jack will come into the team sometime next year as the small defensive back and others like Brabazon / Dempster etc will play the taller back flank with Malcheski going into midfield.

Nothing personal against Bevan but its putting the team first.

The post you quoted was in reference to the Donk, not Bevan.

I don't rate Bevan that highly but think he's in front of Crouch and Mathews and is probably the replacement for them.

Yes and No. The Club would know very well who they will trade or delist. Usually they will attempt to trade a player before chopping but if they're not wanted.......gone.

Figure 8 was told to me by someone else with connections to Club. Personally, it's 1 or 2 higher than I thought but the Club will turnover at least 6 per year.

I'd like to see Doyle, Brennan, Grundy, Vogels be given another go but Willoughby and some others were chopped before they even got close to playing firsts.

My indicator test is if a player has played the last half of the season in reserves or predominately in the ressies then he is probably gone unless he was recruited as a draftee (no prior AFL experience) the same year or year before.

Thus looking at my list again, Brennan might survive (be elevated) and I hope he does but the others are on the "thin ice" cliche.

I really do hope we trade players for draft picks but based on history forget it unless a player wants to leave.

Not off the rookie list but I think it might include the rookie elevations. I didn't get a chance to question the person too much but seems right if the usual turnover in the past has been about 6 players off the senior list.

I'm guessing on Crouch that his body is calling it a day for him. He probably will play on though AND IMO provide opportunity for rookie elevations next year as would Doyle if he's not traded.

If I was in charge of the Swans, I'd risk them unless I could get areally good deal for Doyle.
