We've already had his discussion Ron.
I'd like Goodsey to take on #14 when he takes on the captaincy next year, but the nn's around here reckon that he should stick with #37.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

May be it could be a trend starter from now on all singular captains get the #14 Guernsey.

We've been down this path before 3 or 4 years ago. Even went so far as to send the club an email and received a reply. The club said that the players were not keen on the idea and wanted to keep their own number.

              Maybe thinking has changed.

I hope not, some other clubs have tried it in the past and it has really annoyed supporters with numbers changing. In the end, 14 is just another jumper, but we would have to go back to an old thread for that debate.

I was just making a point GS14/BBB doesnt mean i think it would work.On keeping your own number i can agree on that when i started soccer many moons ago i started with the #5 and played with that number up until i retired 3 years ago.Even when i played indoor soccer i used to wear the #5,and i felt very strange in a different number. Its like when you by a boat you keep the name that the boat already has because its ment to bring bad luck if you change it.

Collingwood used to do it with Number 1 for the captain, supporters were royally p'd (it's not in the swear filter) off when their favourite player became captain as they had to change their jumper number.

In answer to the original post, I used to wear 20 (GO TEASER!!!) Then when he defected to Collingwood I changed it to 21 (Tony Morwood). These days I have been tossing up between 20, 26 and GS14. Although I do wear a t-shirt with the number 14 on the sleeve under my jumper. Even if the club won't give it to someone I can still wear it, but would rather it be given to a player these days. It's been in retirement for long enough.

2 is too short on its own.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Looks like I am the only one that wears the number 12 on my back. Or the only one brave (stupid) enough to say it lol.

I used to wear 132, then 235, then back to 132, then 128, now I wear number 12.
