Grand Final Day - the let down after 05-06.

After the last 2 years, this years GF day is a bit of a let down.

I had been to a number of GF's before 05, but after the last 2 years, not having your team in the big one is a bit of an anti-climax.

I'm sure it will be a great game, and whilst I want Port to win, I wouldn't be disappointed to see premiership medals around the Ablett boys necks.

Now....back to the pre-match entertainment. Is it always this boring?

I am kind of excited about it.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

I'm a bit more excited now it is about to start. But not quite the same as when it's your team.

Before the game started there was a massive sound across the road (Kardinia Park) music much louder than they would ever allow a concert to be played at, I would think there would be a few thousand people over there.

I thought the prematch entertainment was much worse than the last few years, really boring, or was it the terrible camera work of 10, a glimse of Kell was the highlight for me. The National Anthem sounded good (we've heard some shockers over the years) but what was she wearing, did she think she was at the Brownlow instead of the footy?

Halfway through the first quarter and I'm kind of bored, think I'll take the dog for a walk during the second quarter, I'll know when Geelong kick a goal as the sound from KP will surely travel for several blocks.

I want Geelong to win, only reason is because I live here!

I'm still not sure who I want to win. I would like Port to win as they are the underdogs, but then I would like the Cats to win to break their 40-odd year drought.
I would like the Cats to win because I don't like Warren and Chad (v.goodfootballer though), but I would like to see the Power win to show the Cats they shouldn't have dropped Blake.
The main thing I do want to see is the umpires put away their whistles, not to stuff up like normal and let the game flow.

I reckon the Powers back half is going to lose the game at this early stage. The Cats seem to get inside 50 to easily.

What a run down by Ottens!

                Pfft, boring...

On a totally unrelated note, do you think Geelong will score more than our 2 GF scores combined?

Very real possibility, meanwhile Port would struggle to match one of the scores.

Bit of an anti-climax now as Geelong are so far in front, but no, I don't feel a let-down. Yes, there's nothing like the buzz of having your team in it, and I do miss that, of course, but that's OK. Only 2 teams get to play in a grand final each year.

Amazing tackling and pressure. Port have struggled for clean disposal all day.

Will they win by more than 100?? most probably.

Go Cats I just can't say enough how much I'm enjoying their play. Finally their curse is broken!

I love the Game Note for Port Adelaide: Power Failure.

The Cats performance today kind of reminds me of our performance in 2005 - except we had the tough grand final and cruised with the PF against the Saints.

The Geelong play has been great, but I particularly liked this comment from Roy & HG on Triple J after they scored off another Port turnover: "the ball is entering the Cats forward line without any help from the Cats". For some reason that just made me laugh.

I actually gave Port a pretty good chance of winning, before the game. I think I didn't give enough credit to Geelong for what they've achieved this year. Well done Cats!
