Mattner's a good player and if it's a straight swap for Doyle, that would be a great deal for us. Seemingly came out of the blue but I'll bet the Swans have had their eyes on him as a potential trade.

Wonder what he will go for. Just our second round pick? Lots of rumour that old Donkey may also be involved as the sweetener. One good thing about trading with the Crows is that they can be suckers if a deal involves bringing an old Adelaide boy home. We have several other than Donk, Grundy could be a candidate, or even a straight swap for Fossie."As everyone knows our style of football is defensive and unattractive, and as such I have completely forgotten how to mark or kick over the years" - Brett Kirk

I take it the deal still isn't done yet..
Damn, Adelaide may well come to their senses while sleeping on it and ask for more than Donkey Doyle.Official Driver Of The "Who Gives A @@@@ As The Player Will Get Delisted Anyway" Bandwagon.

Hasn't been able to get into the Crows side on a regular basis this year. According to Crows fans on BF, has had a bit of a falling out with Craig, is bereft of all confidence, has suffered from Craig trying to turn him into something he's not, and was advised by other Adelaide players that for his own sanity he should try to seek a new start elsewhere. I've been reading their comments on Mattner for a few weeks now because as soon as Roos indicated he was after a "new Malceski" so the existing one can play in the midfield, Mattner's name was the first that sprang into mind.
Not convinced by ideas of second round picks (or even that they're getting ripped off by not getting our first round pick). If someone here reckons the only of our players worth first round picks are Goodes, O'Keefe and B2, can't see that a down-on-confidence fringe player at a club with similar performance to ours would come close to a first. Even a second rounder shouldn't need a sweetener (though Doyle's injury record makes him neither here nor there in terms of value to us).Comment

Why does Fozzie come up just because he is from Adelaide. Last I heard he wanted to stay in Sydney.
He gets a bit of a bake from a few RWO'ers but he knows how to find space and the footy and his form hasn't dropped off since the 2005 GF unlike a couple of others.Comment

According to Realfooty, we would give up our second round pick. I am happy with that!

Roos says they won't use the 11 pick and the crows haven't asked for it.Those who have the greatest power to hurt us are those we love.Comment

A Mattner for Doyle straight swap would be a great deal for us, as the Crows seem to be turning over ruckmen every year. I think the Crows will want more than just a ruckman, Grundy could be a very handy addition to the ailing Crows forward line and I expect him to be a part of the trade too.I only support one team: The SYDNEY SWANS!!!!! :adore

I don't think anyone would like to see Fozzy go, but the sad truth is he wanted to leave last year and go home to Adelaide, (not sure where his wifey is from) which didn't obviously happen. Unlike the saga of Rocca where he soooo under performed whilst with us that there was no choice but to let him go, at least Foz has maintained his integrity and played his heart out every game. Hard not to play your heart out when you've just played in the last 2 GF's. T'would be a loss, but we can't keep someone who doesn't want to stay.Comment
