Don't think we have had a wingman since 2004. But it is good news. He has the potential to become a Stewie Maxfield type - strong running, great tackler and a very long kick. He does have a reputation for running too far with the ball trying to evade numerous tacklers. Will carry on the Leo tradition.

      According to this article, http://www.realfooty.com.au/news/new...695823242.html

      Mattner for #28 and Doyle.

Also mentions Sam Power for a third or fourth rounder, but fails to mention the third rounder is going to be used on Craig Bird.

        Malcheski's in the midfield.

        More likely Tiger ->midfield.

When Roos said that they were going to use their third pick on Bird, I wonder if he really meant 3rd pick - not current third round pick. As far as I understand, a club can use its final choice on scholarship players. There is no point using an earlier one. So I think he was saying that they'll be drafting 3 players in total of which the final one will be Bird.

That means the 3rd rounder is available for trading in the same way as anything else.

Yeah i was also a bit confused about Roos when he said 3rd pick. Firstly i thought it was a 3rd rounder but forgot that clubs can use the very last pick in the draft to claim the scholarship player.

Pick 28 to The Crows Paperwork needs to be finalised, interesting that Mattner was flown up to sydney last week by Roosy. met all the boys and seems happy to be in the red and white.

                    Sounds bloody good to me!

Like SimonH says though, there will be alot of delistings.

                    I reckon it will be:

                    Doyle
                    Simpkin
                    Vogels
                    Faulks
                    Crouch?? still a slight possibility
                    Brabazon

                    Elevate:
                    Barlow
Brennan (still don't rate him, but hope he comes good with his first pre-season in ages)
                    Jack??

Move Micky O and Leo to the vets list.

The weagles will have pick 20 today so they might try and hijack this deal.

Isn't Micky already on the vets list?

Why? I wouldn't have thought Mattner would be of any interest to them?

Why would WC want to do that? Their midfield is still good, even without Judd. I would have thought they'd be concentrating on their forward line.

Not much they can do when Mattner wants to be a Swan.

Crows seem to have Mattner's interests at heart so the deal with Sydney is as good as done. I can't see a higher 2nd round pick in any way influencing a change of mind.
