Absolutely agree Bloods! We have enough "Blue Collar" midfielders in Kirk, Buchanan to fill Jude's void. We still need a pacy outsider who can as you said deliver the ball effectively into our forward 50. We have always struggled with our quality of ball into the forward 50. Both Green and Mattner on the wings booming the ball long looks exceedingly enticing to me.
    Swannies for life!

Bolton for Green is actually win-win IMO.

Hard inside mid, for tough but talented outside mid.

We have too many tough inside mids (Kirk, Bolton, Ablett, Bucky) whilst they have too many talented outside mids (Johnstone, Bruce, Green, Davey).

      Go for it Roosy!

Ditto, I agree Green for B1 would make me happy. B1 is good at getting the ball and useless at getting rid of it.

I think the Dees have gone some way already to addressing their inside mid problem. They just need to be patient enough to let it develop. Jones and Pettard look as tough as they come as inside mids, while they also have McLean and Moloney. If anything, their problem looks to be that when Yze, Bruce and Johnstone retire, they'll be all inside grunt and little outside flair.

The Bulldogs look a club more obviously in need of another inside grunter.

Great left boot, but that's it.
Every club has misconceptions that exist outside the club. Since yesterday, I learned that few here rate Jude Bolton at all when everyone else outside SFC do.

Melbourne's biggest misconception is that Brad Green is soft. He isn't. He's no in and under player, but he never shirks and he routinely put his body on the line. That mark you saw is the kind of thing Melbourne supporters have come to expect from him.

Chris Johnson and Adem Yze make up 99% of our team's true softness.

                Fair enuff.

I reckon I watch enough footy to have a pretty good gauge of most players, but I wouldn't profess to know as much about a Demon than a true Demon supporter.

I'll take it that maybe I am too tough on him, but he just seems to go missing when the going gets tough and that is the one thing that really irks me with some players, the Swans have them too, front runners who look a million dollars when their teammates are bashing the bejeezus out of the opposition, but get 6 possies for the match when things aren't going so rosy. It's just my real pet hate. Green has always fitted into that basket for me.

BTW, good post in defence of Green, well put and not flame like. Cheers.
