Leigh Fisher for Schneider is an even trade IMO, and good for the Swans. Solves the problem of what to do with Bevan.

I like Schneider and was hoping that he wouldn't be traded, but a trade for Fisher should help team balance.

Salary cap is just useful spin to put on the trading of popular players. It can never be verified.

Bevans useless. Trade him for the number 1 water boy

He might get tagged but who would they tag though? Goodes, Kennelly, Malceski or even Mattner? Kirk would be freed up and hopefully forgotten and if we can keep Buchanan, it might help him as well.

Which is? I will be pissed off if we have to put up with Bevan, McVeigh and Matthews next year while I see Schneider playing in the evil strip of St Kilda.

Add his missed sitters, those of Bolton and Buchanan and we may well have finished 2nd. The appalling finishing by these blokes really let the team down.

2 big problems all year - missed sitter goals and poor centre clearance work = midfield poor skills.

Schneids might look flashing and do the odd magical thing (who can forget the 2005 PF not the Saints thats for sure) but a match winner, very, very debateable.
This sums up my view perfectly.

Schneider is far too inconsistent and inaccurate in front of goal.

If Leigh Fisher is part of the trade, then I would expect that he will get the usual tagging job that Bevan got. It's hard to see a place for Bevan in the squad with Fisher coming in.

With Schneider gone, I do hope we keep Buchanan.

I think what sydney is doing is probably getting more backmans, so the likes of Malceski Kennelly and crouch can move into the midfield area. As these players all have good speed which will increase the speed of the team in the middle.

Fair trade probably - even though I've seen very little of fisher to be honest. Unfortunately Schneider never really kicked on after his brilliant debut season (2003?), and maybe the move will revitalise his career. Good luck to him, let's see if this goes through.

Agree with Ludwig that if this goes through, Buchanan is likely to stay

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

I'm a little disappointed because I hate getting rid of New South Wales players. Much of love Jude and Amon, they're both Victorians, so their loss would not have been as great as Schiederman's.
