Article from Paul Roos: "We Achieved Our Trade Goals"

"Our final goal was to keep our first and second round draft picks because we believe there are probably 30-35 good players in this year?s draft. We are also well aware that some of our senior players are closer to the end of their careers rather than the start."

    Am I ever serious?

We used pick 33 for Playfair! I thought it was pick 44?

So that's it then. Sydney really has finished trading. We can look forward to another season of Jude Bolton miskicks, Ben Matthews hesitation and Jarred McVeigh poor decision making.

I guess we haven't done too badly in the end.

The players we've picked up address our needs and we still have two picks in the top 30.

Check out how well the Evils have done, damn them. I hope all their draft picks go lame.

It must be 44, we never held 33.

Apparently this is a weak draft compared to previous years, I hope they pick duds.

To be fair, we needed a ruckman and got one, so we did achieve the short term goal.

The fact he did not work out does not change the scenario.

Roos writing style cracks me up. He's like a 65 year old women writing to her grandson, or possibly a teacher's end of year report. If he decides to move on having destroyed our list, he'll make a great School Principal.
He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.

                              I am gutted!!!

Thank's Roosey!! You gave your mate Ross GOLD for nothing at the expense of our club. Pick 26 for two premiership players. ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR FM. You are the laughing stock of the AFL. This draft has been rated as very poor one with only the top 20 with any real chance of playing 50 games or more. Why TF did you not get rid of Matthews, Crouch, Fosdike and Bolton to relieve our salary cap pressures. They are all over the hill and don't have speed or agility to compete at this level. I am afraid you will definately see the fruits of your labour next year. You said you wanted to add speed to the team, Playfair is certaintly not that, he can hardly run, why do you think Geelong left him out of the team, b/c he was quick and strong.

Get ready for a year of disappointment. Collingwood and others smashed us in the midfield this year, I scared to think what they will do to us next year. We are heading down the ladder for some time. The price of having to many elder players on your list that can not compete against much younger and faster bodies. Brisbane is a prime example.
