1. Take away their draft picks this year (i.e. Juddy goes for free).
2. Last seaon they finished on 60 points, next season start them on -60 (then take the ensuing draft picks away from them again when they're sitting at the bottom of the ladder).
I think they may sit up and take notice then.Last edited by AnnieH; 18 October 2007, 04:02 PM.Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Given that the Fat Controller said this morning, in an interview on ABC radio, that the commission weren't meeting until November sometime (ie. after the draft) it would be pretty difficult for them to take away their draft picks.Does God believe in Atheists?Comment

Nisbett's Statement
"Well it's no different to any citizen ? we have to rely on the honesty and integrity of our players. They sign off to a code of conduct which we expect them to live 24/7. If they don't, obviously they'll get into serious trouble and action has to be taken.
"Certainly from our point-of-view, we've been very firm with our player group in what they've been doing this year, and we're very confident that the rest of the summer should be incident-free."
2. "Should be" incident free??

John Howard's got two cents worth ...
Eagles Right to Sack Cousins
Although he does say some very, very sensible things towards the end (grand-dad advice) ...
Mr Howard said part of the drug problem was the way they were often referred to as "recreational" or "party" drugs. "I do often hear news reports about recreational drugs, I've even heard some police say that," he said.
"I just think from today we should stop calling them party drugs or recreational drugs. It gives them a glamour they don't deserve."
Mr Howard, a former smoker, said he believed society was often tougher on smokers than those who took illegal substances, and urged the courts to be as "tough as possible" on drugs.Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Sounds like typical "electioneering" to me.
I do love the way that the government is so generous with it's criticism of the AFL drug policy when it was the first sport to actually introduce a code of conduct/policy.
If AFL players are deemed to be role models and should be setting an example, well you know what, I'm a big fan of politics and I look up to the leaders of this nation. I'd like to see random drug testing for all politicians.... And because of their high standing in the community, let's do compulsory tax audits on each member of parliment every year.Comment
