I reckon you'll get to see some cracking games in Melbourne next year, you should be happy. I just don't understand the angst.
    My point was more this....

There are 6 Victorian games this year. One is at Geelong which has a capacity of less than 30,000. You have to pay extra to get a seat or get there when the gates open (Lily will be 2 1/2 by then). We play Collingwood at Telstra Dome. That will more than likely be a ticket only affair, so we will have to pay more money for a seat (if it was at the MCG, then no problems). I will be in Sydney for a course (so I'll see the game on FTA) when one of the games is on (whilst this is a personal thing it still effects my decision as to whether I buy membership or not).

Finally, as I said elsewhere, I qualify for concession entry when I just pay at the gate. However, as I said earlier, this does not carry over to buying a membership. As Health Care Cards can expire during the footy season.

So realistically to pay $150.00 to see three games is not worth my while. However I will be going to whatever games I can as a GA entrant.

This is not particularly a jab at you GS14, It happens every year with different people, but why do people think the draw should suit their own personal circumstances ?

It is hardly the AFL or Swans fault you have a 2 1/2 year old and have a limited concession.

Some of the whinges about the draw are unbelievable.

The point on games at TD against Teams with a large supporter base is warranted.

Given that this year, both games against the pies had larger crowds than TD holds is somewhat frustrating. And it is annoying that to get a decent seat you have to pay extra, even though you have already paid your membership. Our membership gets us entry to LVL 3 only.

And if it is a ticketed game, like Essendon's are, and likely the pies, you have to pay extra anyhow, you don't have a choice.

The complaint is less games at the MCG hence more games at crowded and possibly ticketed venues.

Round 1 Saturday, Mar 22 (Sat Night) St. Kilda Telstra Dome Away 7:10 pm
Round 5 Saturday, Apr 19 (Sat Aft) Geelong Skilled Stadium Away 2:10 pm
Round 6 Sunday, Apr 27 (Sun Aft) Kangaroos Telstra Dome Away 2:10 pm
Round 15 Sunday, Jul 13 (Sun Early) Hawthorn MCG Away 1:10 pm
Round 16 Sunday, Jul 20 (Sun Early) Carlton Telstra Dome Away 1:10 pm
Round 21 Saturday, Aug 23 (Sat Night) Collingwood Telstra Dome Away 7:10 pm

Last year we played StKilda at TD - same.
Last year we played 'Roos at TD - same.
Last year we played Geelong at Skilled - same.
Last year we played Carlton at TD - same.
Last year we played Hawthorn at MCG - same.
Last year we played Collingwood at MCG - much worse.

The pies one is a valid point, but, everyone whinges about the pies playing lots of home/victorian games. Then on the flipside, everyone wants to play them at the G so its easier to get in.

You cant have it both ways, well unless you are in winkyland.

Mine weren't meant to be whinges, rather qualifying my earlier statements. I will go to what matches I can, but financially I can't justify paying the membership fees for what I would get in return.

BTW, even though my HCC didn't expire during the season last year, I still couldn't get concession membership, however I still could if I wanted to go GA.

The resultant penalty of not buying membership is that if we make the GF we won't have any preferences. I can live with that, after all I was there in person when we won in 05, so I can't complain.

Of our seven return games ALL are against the top nine teams and NONE are against teams 10-15. The only top side we don't get to play twice is.....the Kangaroos.

During the middle of the season there are 11 games in a row with, wait for it, ONE on TV (Collingwood). We have the same number of TV games as Fremantle. Yup!

                  Boy, I'm happy.

One game at the G is just not good enough. I mean, aside from the fact that I am a Melbourne boy and an AFL member who loves goin to the G to watch the boys, it is just not fair on clubs to only give them 1 game at the G. The biggest game of the year is played there...I reckon as long as the AFL keeps that up, they should be scheduling at least two games every year for clubs there...it is only fair.

I agree completely. Only 1 game at the MCG is a joke. It is just another case of the Anti-Swans bias in the AFL!

Not happy with the lack of day SCG games,it is easier with getting home (with the kids) and always a bit more relaxed.

As we always go to the Noble stand after and see the footy family, with the Sunday games we are out by 6. With the nte games it then becomes 11 (or 11.30) and that is getting late for them. Also the atmosphere is not as family friendly then either.

I thought we played Carlton at the SCG only in 2007?

Only one game at the MCG is wrong!

We must have close to the toughest draw. To not play any of the bottom 6 twice is puzzling to say the least and playing the WCE, Aints and Port twice in first 12 rounds and to finish off with Geelong, Collingwood and the Lions in the last 3 rounds, makes for some tough thinking at Swans head quarters.

So again, you don't know sheet.
If you quoted my whole post you would have realised that i said also "If the Swans wanted more members in melbourne they should try and get more games down here" to entice the old South Melbourne members to rejoin. As GS14 said why would you pay $x amount to see only a few games a year that certainly doesnt entice people to part with their hard earned.

So again you dont no sheet.

I wish we had more games down here it would be good.Insted of having 2 games in Canberra why not have the extra 2 in Melbourne to get more members. So the slogan"One Team Two Cities" is just smoke getting blown up the arses of Melbourne based Swans supporters.

I'm one of the lucky ones most of the time i get to see about 12 games a year live.
