Disregarding the rights and wrongs about the Sydney move.

They were one of the 11 who voted to send South to Sydney, disregarding the South members vote.

They were also one of the 11 clubs who held their hand out for the Docs millions, and then 7 years later were prepared to vote in favour of the demise of Sydney.

What goes around comes around. I have nothing but total contempt for ALL of the Victorian based clubs. The more of these parasites that are forced to piss off to faraway places the better. My only sadnness is that they will not be forced to endure the hardships that Sydney faced in their early years trying to establish themselves in a foreign market. No doubt the AFL hand holding will continue.

      .

Hey Reggi, I know you were heartbroken as a youngster when Bernie Evans left, can you remember who got his number? Was he any good and did you have to change the number on your back.

The reason I ask is Casey is wondering who will get the #13 she has on her guernsey. She is hoping like hell it is Keiran Jack. She said to pass on she now knows how you felt all those years ago.

They either move and take on the Gold Coast name, or drop the games they are playing up there and fight to the death in the Melbourne.

They have to embrace the GC as their home to have any chance of surviving up there long term. What Gold Coast resident is going to go for them if they are North Melbourne or "Northern" - they are in South East Qld!!!!

I really do think we need a full time presence up there soon though, the AFL ignored Canberra when AFL was the gun sport there. With the amount of Southern state ex pats living there, it's really important they capture that market.

It's the northern half of the east coast (spare me the tape measure).

                      Oh you betcha Reggi.

Never forget and never forgive. It might be 25 years ago, but so what. They were one of the 11 signatures that sent us to Sydney, they can end up in North Faisalibad for all I care.

The fact that I believe that us going to Sydney was a good thing is irrelevent.

                      SEN tonight was just laughable.

                      Norf supporters in total frenzy.

Heaps ringinig in saying "ive been a norf supporter for 30 squillion years etc etc etc" Problem is, most of em have been, yet thats all they have been. Not kicking in one cent yet happy to live off the handouts from the Doc, West Coast, Bears (Ruben Pellerman & Cronin), Weinhart & Willesee, and the SANFL via the Adelaide Crows and Port Adelaide and lately the $1.4 mill that the AFL kicks into them to keep them afloat. Total parasites. I say cut the support and let them rot!

Like it or not, AFL clubs are now a business. If they can't properly manage themselves, or don't have enough customers (i.e. members), well time for a restructure or a new product line my friends.

If the AFL was doing their job properly, they would hold a summit each five years and drag out the two (Maybe three or four) lowest performing teams (On and off the field) over the past five years and have them justify their position in the comp and their plan to rectify the situation. Then the AFL can review and make a decision on their future for the greater good of the game.

We all know that we can't support more tha 16 teams in the top level, how are we to ever expand to a truly national comp if we keep supporting lame duck organisations that undermine every other successful and well meanaged team's financial security.

This is the only way we'll end up with a truly national comp and teams in Tassie, Canberra, Woollongong, 2nd Sydney team, etc, etc.

I hope the AFL won't have to resort to introducing a 17th team in the league. Kangas, just relocate or die already!
I only support one team: The SYDNEY SWANS!!!!! :adore

It sounds like it's the same scenario for them as it was for the swans.
They would be doing themselves a favour in the long term if they moved.
Melbourne unfortunately cannot support all the teams they have - at least one (if not two) have to move.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

The Fat Controller made an interesting point on ABC radio this morning. North is the only shareholder owned club in the AFL. Any other organisation that is share holder run and was making a loss would have to be propped up by the shareholders, not some other body. It is time for the share hol;ders to put up or shut up (He didn't say the last sentence, that is my thought).

Well for myself they are a nothing club with not many supporters if they disapppeared I would neither notice nor care much. So send em to the Gold Coast or let them fold.

They aren't an imprtant club in the competetion and would soon be forgotten
