The most feared forward in the AFL - can't see BBH having this tag whilst one Jonathon Brown is running around.

He's not feared because he can kick goals - he's feared because he can knock you out for a week if he makes conact.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

At his best, Barry is the the equal of Brown in the fearsome and goal kicking areas.
..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

Spot on Big Al,but IMO Melcho should be given the captaincy.
Now this is a thread that i would expect on the ego -centric, wank session that is redandwhiteonline.com...

I would guess Mr A Goodes this year.

            L. Barry to be pushed out next year and the eski to get the captaincy then.

That would make 3 midfielders and no defenders or forwards in 2009.

              Is that an issue?
And the man who started it all, the Schneiderman . . . . .

No. Midfielders are perfect for the job.
We need the defenders and fowards to do what they do best ... stop goals and kick goals.

If and when Barry steps down, I'd have thought Craig Bolton is the obvious replacement as a captain defender. He's already in the leadership group and his status as one of the most important players in the current team is surely undisputed.

                  Malceski's time will come.

                      Barry makes the call

I'm sorry to see Bazza not want to be a co-captain as he is as good a leader for the younger players as Kirk.

However the best news from this story is that Ben Matthews is standing down from the leadership group "due to family committments"

What a load of you know what!!! He is simply not up to being in the leadership and hopefully will struggle to get a game next season.

We have smarter and better younger options in the group to take his place.

Captain's goal and all that, he really wasn't a captain's lemonade.

The "old I want to spend more time with the family" excuse. It's the usual cop out by players when they know their time is up. With a year on his contract captain of the 2's in 2008 would be a great way to bow out Benny. Then you could POQ to spend the time in the arvo with the kids kicking a footy or doing the garden, ironing or washing the windows. Anything from the wife's job list from 1-10.

There has been some discussion of the replacement at our house this evening, and we came to the consensus that we would like Nick Davis to be captain.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time
