    2007 Scorecard - #3 Jarred McVeigh

Tis a long off season... And whilst we have the time on our hands, let's critique each players performance in 2007.

Let's go in numerical order and each have our two cents worth on their performance for the year. Players will get changed/updated as soon as the dust settles on each players review and everyone's had their say.

Most importantly, everyone needs to give each player a rating out of 10 so we can reasonabley measure their performance... In your opinion of Course

    Rate away......

Was disgraceful this season. How he played every game is beyond me.

Ducks his head regularly, doesn't get to enough contests and his disposal was friggin embarassing. He didn't give us what we need. He lacks courage and doesn't have the pace or skill to compensate.

On a positive note, he's in Roosy's circle of friends.

5/10. Definately not a good year however thought he tried hard. One thing i did notice was that he was regularly putting himself into good position to receive the ball, so if he can work on doing something with it when he gets it he will be much improved.

Had a few good games. Improved during the year.
But below where he probably should be for such a high draft pick, given the number of Senior games he has played.

Shocking - went backwards. Made too many mistakes. 2/10.

2/10. The major disappointment of the year for me. Thought he had a good 2006 but he was dreadful this year.

Number three ... Dale Lewis anyone? I find them to be very similar players. Moments of sheer brilliance ... very small moments, very few and far between.

              McVeigh!!

To give him a score out of 10. I'll be generous.

For the three games where he actually "played the game" (and showed us the potential he actually has), I'll give him one point for each game.

He gets another point for having really, really noice shoes (at the trivia night - poor bastard got our table. Lucky it was during his fantastic three game streak!).

That brings my score up to -6.

How the living @@@@ he gets a game (week after week after week) is totally beyond me.

He's got to learn not to be scared of the ball or the opposition - don't just stand around looking at them, do something! It's bloody annoying when you know he has the capacity, but does nothing but stand around like a kangaroo staring into your headlights. He's got to learn how to think on his feet. He's got to learn how to lay a bloody tackle.

He has the ability - he's just got to learn how not to be scared to use it.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

                Can't have that at all.

Dale Lewis at different stages of his career was a gun footballer.

Fantastic in the beginning, but very inconsistent towards the end (like everyone else I suppose!!). How well Dale played depended entirely on whether or not he had gotten a haircut that week.

McVeigh has the potential to go from being very mediocre in the beginning (and mid-career) to potential superstar in the end. He's been lucky with inujuries (so far) and the sky is still the limit - if he wants it.

3/10. Hopefully it was the poor season that he had to have in order for him to explode next year.

Potential is still there and i definitely haven't given up on him to be a star for us.

Has done, can and must do better. Otherwise goodbye.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

he could never be a superstar he is the ultimate dud,in fact he's the biggest dud since michael parsons.
there is no way he should be compared to dale lewis.
if he wasn't from sydney we would never have drafted him, just have a look at some of the players drafted after him.
suming up he is a no talented gutless dud and it is a disgrace that he is wearing the great gerard healys no.

It was worth the wait Annie!!!!!

For Jarrad, he was one that showed from time to time that he is capable of playing at this level, but those days and moments were few and far between.
For a No.5 draft pick, he really needs to come along next year.
However, Mark took six or seven years to do anything, so there is still time.

                            3/10.

                              3.5 out of 10......

1 point for each good game he played... Half a point for putting up with Annie on the trivia night!

He was really, really, really @@@@ for the most part. Didn't get anywhere near as much of the ball as he should of. And when he did, it was again, @@@@. The only decent games he had was when the opposition thought @@@@ it, he doesn't do jack-@@@@, we'll leave him to run by himself. Even then he had very little impact.

A bitterly disappointing performance from a player I had high hopes for at the start of the season. The fact that a useless passenger like this held out Schmidt, Barlow and Laidlaw makes my freaking blood boil....
