I don't really know why people are so upset at missing the North Sydney trial. It may be a pleasant enough Friday evening in a pretty setting, but as a contest it really has little value. It is only 15 a side & the oval is the size of a pinhead; you can seriously kick goals from the centre square there. Most of the big name players don't play & you find yourself checking the record to try & work out who is who.

It is a pleasant outing, but I'd rather a decent 18 vs 18 hit out, whereever it may be. If we get kicked out f the NAB Cup in Tassie they may hold a trial somewhere in the Sydney area.

Personally I think pre-season trials should be held in areas other than Sydney. Maybe play a game at North Dalton in Wollongong so the locals can see AFL footy live at close range. Newie ain't a bad day trip either. Playing at match at Bankstown Oval or even a re-turfed Henson Park in my view has merit as well. Anywhere decent in Blacktown/Penrith to play a pre-season trial? What about Campbelltown, the ground there is pretty good.

Bring footy to the community to people who may not be able to see the game much.

North Sydney is a pleasant day/night at the footy. But as a football exercise it is pretty limited.

I was wondering if they just meant at Moore Park. Still very dissapointing to not have it at NSO, it was a great way to get 10k people in to watch a pre-season game and was fantastic publicity for the code.

On a positive note - at least seeing an intra-club clash will give us more of an insight into 2008's gameplan than a Swans Reserves vs Bendigo match would.
And the man who started it all, the Schneiderman . . . . .

Where did they say they were switching the game to Broadford. If they do I might actually go to a pre season match.

Shame, as last year was the first one I'd managed to get to - & it was loadsa fun. Still Moore Park's even closer to home. [I've been waiting for these things for years...]

I'm dissapointed. I always enjoyed the game at NSO but I prefered it on the Sunday afternoon. I can't see an intraclub trial drawing a crowd, altough they held one a number of years ago at Kelso Park( a ground just down the road from my house) and got a reasonable response however we did have Plugger, Kel, Cressa & Dunks back then.

                            Not this year.

Last I heard they will be holding an Intraclub match prior to the Hawthorn game in Tassie.

Are they playing a practice match in Canberra at all? I'd be keen to go to that.
