Yes he should be. Off field @@@@ ups shouldn't cloud the fact that he's one of the greatest players of all time, and should rightfully be inducted.

I can understand the argument that a dog like him shouldn't be put in any hall of fame's.

They don't induct crap players for being nice blokes.

I don't think he should, but given that other blokes with off field issues have been inducted, he probably will.

You get inducted into the AFL hall of fame for being a great player, not for being a great bloke.

I suppose if Jack Dyer is a hall of famer.. And he was pretty much just a thug on the field, well why shouldn't they admit Carey?

What happens after the career of a footballer finishes, or for that matter anything that isn't onfield during their career, should have no impact on whether or not someone is included in the HOF. The HOF is (or should be) about playing ability only.

                          What about Paul Bevan?

On playing ability...no. Outside goings on...yes.

Let's put Paul Bevan in the HOF.

So on your logic if a super star of the game turns into a drug dealer/rappist/women basher they should be allowed into the HOF just because they were a great player.

That is a load of crap, the HOF goes on playing ability, integrity, modesty etc etc not just playing ability and thats how it should be.

Well, when Gary Ablett Snr is allowed to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, I might support the Carey idea.
