We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Bet the place would be bloody cold in winter too.

Braba's is best as an outside midfielder, but put him in traffic and thus far he has been hopeless - poor decision making and execution to the fore. Get him running free, he looks great. Yesterday he showed improvement on chasing and acountability. But, no coincidence that so far he has starred when the opposition is tired or not good enough. I thught he was pretty lucky to avoid the sword last year because outside midfielders are basically parasites, and they need to be better than good to justify their inclusion. Reckon he survived because he is a natural leader, get in a ressies huddle and he is the bloke talking it up.

Contrast Cracker Jack, disposal not as good as Braba, but on every other measure better. Better reader and winner of the ball in traffic, better tackler, better at the quick decision or 1%er. Also just as quick and elusive when on the run.

I think Keiren will be a 200 gamer. I'm not so sure about Braba.
I have no problem with the pace that Jack generates but that may be his main problem. I don't think there is much disagreement on his need to improve his disposals and to compose himself when ready to kick, however, can he teach himself to do that, as he runs fast and tries to dispose but if he slows for a few strides before he kicks there is a real chance he will be run down and seen as the perrenial player that cops "ball" from the crowd. Sometimes to try to change someone into something they are'nt can be their downfall.

The point about Brabazon starring when the rest are knackered just proves he has a big motor which is huge asset at the end of a game, and Liz's point about him having more time to dispose hence is under less pressure than Jack, could very well mean he is one of these players who gets himself into the right position and always looks like they have plenty of time eg Rhys Jones and Williams were the masters at that. Next time I see him play I will keep an eye on his in traffic ability.

One of great things about our game is it has so many facets that different people see different things in some players.

a lot of our youngsters have the same issues raised when discussing them, that their disposal needs work, it seems most of the senior guys have the same problem, whats going on at the swans?? I sometimes think we are one of the worst sides at hitting a target and we seem to like getting players who lack real polish. Then the guy with the skills does his knee sniff sniff

No argument there but gee we don't go anywhere near the Tigers and Melbourne. For a senior player, Brad Green was as bad as I have seen last weekend. He's got no hope of getting back into the leadership group on that. Yes it was the first competetive game of the season but he is no different in the real stuff.

In general play were not that bad on Sunday but it was going into the forward 50 that looked bad, but then again we had no tall targets. Some of the options were puzzling though in that regard.

I attribute alot of the skill errors to the high possession handball-happy gameplan we adopt getting the ball out of defensive. We like to play-on from kick-outs and handball alot to get past the opponents' half forward line. This leads to panicked disposals when we are under pressure. Clued-up sides like Geelong & Collingwood have worked out our game plan & realise we are piss-easy to dispossess in our defensive 50.

Add a hot day, unfamiliar surroundings & 4 quarters of AFL pressure, the clamgers are to be expected. Still it doesn't make clangers like O'Dwyer's OOBOTF when we had free players on the outer wing with the game in the balance any more pleasant to watch.

I thought the positives shown by O'Dwyer far outweighed the negatives. I am genuinely excited about his potential. He has some dash!!
