Greetings from sunny Hobart, the hill capital of the southern hemisphere, everyone!

Yes I know I don't have a life, but when else would I have an excuse to come over here & look around?

If we look back at the pre-season match from last year, I guess players like Kieran Jack got their first chance to catch the eye.

Who will do it this time around, I wonder?

      JF

PS:- Have the Swans ever kicked a 9 point goal in the history of the NAB cup? Even if we lose tomorrow, I'd love to see one of those.

I'm hoping to get into a routine of providing Swans fans without Foxtel refuge at my place this season. ( I may charge an admission fee of a slab of Strongbow and/or one large pizza, but that is negotiable. )

Hopefully we can get an RWO gathering & order pizzas in rather than doing the Patonys thing all the time.

Number 1...I'm afraid that the hill capital of the southern hemisphere is either Wellington....spectaclularly steep and only about 3 hectares of flat land in the entire city or Christchurch...hills (well, mountains technically) on the outlying suburbs 3000 feet high....anyhoo

Number 2....Craig Bolton got a nine pointer once after receiving a fifty for late contact on a mark 65 out.

Pretty sure Ablett scored a 9 pointer once too, but again from a 50m penalty so he didn't actually have to kick it from outside the arc. That was in the shellacking from the Lions a few years back, at Telstra Stadium.

After watching game between brisbane and essendon - we have heaps more senior players playing on Sunday than they had against essendon.
I didnt hardly see one senior player.
Essendon had a few - and some good running young players.

I dont say we will win - but at least we have a few in the team.

Hawthorns list I havent checked - but as everyone says it is better to lose and come out without injuries.

If we win - well it is a bonus especially a little bit of money wise anyway.
              Love those Swans

According to the pre-season AFL Record, 4 current Swans have kicked supergoals: the aforementioned Craig Bolton and Ablett, plus Everitt (as a Hawk most likely) and Kirk (who I suspect must also have been a recipient of a 50m penalty as I doubt he could kick it that far).

If Malceski gets a shot at it tomorrow, I think he's the most likely to kick one.

                  Is Davo still playing?
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Yes, but we know how unselfish Davo can be.

                      Might have been 2 x 50m IIRC

Most of his regular season goals from outside 50 come from marks taken around the 48 metre mark anyway so they wouldn't count

Will have to follow the game on afl.com.au's game day live.

Anyone know why Schmidt and Laidlaw aren't playing?

Laidlaw min 4 week knee injury.

BTW we have four ruckmen on the list (including the rookie L'Orreal...if he plays will he be a make up player?) but not one of them is playing today. mmm maybe we just watch their ruckmen and everyone stasys on the ground waiting for the tap.

I don't have foxtel but being a fortunate sydney-sider it actually hasn't mattered until now - everyhting is usually on FTA at some point
