It's quite possible that Goodes below parr (for him) performances earlier in 2007 were due to his relationship bust up.

On this occassion the captaincy was always going to go to a defender and Craig Bolton more than deserves selection for that role. Congratulations to him.

I really do hope that Goodes replaces Kirk when kirk retires.

Why was it always going to a defender?

I hope Goodes doesn't have to wait around to replace Kirk when he retires. I'd not be surprised to see Kirk still commanding the midfield for another 3 or 4 years.

Either Goodes or Bolton would have been an excellent selection - at least based on what we can see from the outside. It is nice that the club is spoilt for choice but would like to see Goodes get his chance sooner rather than later.

Easy - Craig to the forward line.

          Or Leo.

I'd say this time next year we'll have Craig, Adam and Brett as our captains. Leo needs to prove himself this year as to wtf he is still captain.

Each captain covers a 'section' of the field - defence (Barry to Bolton), midfield (Kirk), forwards (Hall). Personally I'd like to see just one captain and for Goodes to take that role.

Everyone needs to prove himself every year.

Given Leo was leading the 2007 B&F (yes 2007) well into the season before he did his hammy, he proved his value to those who review things properly (e.g. the coach).
"As a player he simply should not have been able to do the things he did. Leo was a 185cm, 88kg full-back and played on some of the biggest, fastest and best full-forwards of all time, and constantly beat them." Roos.
Leo Barry? you star! We'll miss ya, ''Leapin''.

Good, now you just have to work on the Board.

Really? Sorry, I assumed he was replacing Barry. There goes my reasoning.

Should have been Davo and we need a captain in the F50,he's on fire this pre-season just ask him.

                    Congrats B2.

So, Roosy thought picking a captain between Goodes and C. Bolton was like choosing a date between Megan Gale and Jennifer Hawkins.
Question is, who represents who? I reckon Roos went for Jen!

                            Congrats to B2.

You gotta love Goodsey but i'd rather see him out there just doing his thing without any additional pressure - we all saw what happened at the begining of last year.

Craig is going to be a great captain and Goodes will become one as soon as they think he's ready to handle the pressure.

Perhaps you could replace your avater with such a pic? Would be a great insight into the workings of the club and how/why decisions are made at Board level.
