Logged on today expecting there would already be a thread on him. Granted he wasn't in our best on the day, but that blind turn in the first quarter was very Micky-esque.

This guy looks to be extremely athletic and now with Playfair on the long term injury list, perhaps this is his time.

...Of course, another tall LRT had a blinder. Would've been great to have had him healthly last season.

I was hoping to see him stand Lance Franklin for a little while, but it wasn't to be (as far as I know, hard to tell on television at times).

Looks to be a great prospect for us. If Peter Everitt is injured, play him straight away. He won't let Roosy down. w

If he puts together a solid next few games I'd love to see him debut Round 1, I think that would be very exciting.

He did some great things in that game... took a strong overhead mark, roved his own ruck taps ala Brownlow year ruckman Goodesy, that beautiful run where he put on the after burners and blew away his opponent... and, perhaps most excitingly, HE CAN KICK THE BALL WELL!

Just watched the game again & the big fella is a prospect alright.
He can play and as Stell said can kick.
Reminds me alot of his namesake Jeff White the ways he moves.
At least he wont be a gumby like PAUL CHAMBERS.

I saw Jesse White play in last year's NAP cup and liked the look of him then, and last weekends game summed up for me that I think he should get a chance this year.

He's an excitement machine ala Barry Hall's Hall of fame ad on at the moment. I reckon White can be the next Goodesy but as a KPP not the brilliant all round man Goodes is.

I believe so, he has played in the backline in the reserves and done rather well- his spoiling is wonderful and I really like what he can provide as a big backman when rebounding the footy out of defence. The first time I saw him play was at NSO vs. the Pies in 2007, he rucked well, went forward and took some strong marks and goaled but the thing that impressed me the most was that he spent some time at CHB standing Travis Cloke and he more than held his own- I don't think Cloke took a mark on him and White was able to close with ease and spoil very well.

The thing I like the most about him? He clearly loves to be out there playing (his enjoyment is obvious and I think that makes the game more fun to watch as a fan).

Played KPP back many times last year. While Mocca is very fast for a bloke his size he needed at that stage to improve his concentration and acceleration, as from time to time his opponents beat him on the lead. He does love to play and be in the action, getting cold in the backline did not seem to please him that much. (I see the difficulty of developing a KPP back as one of the problems with the ACT comp - the ball just does not get down there enough) He is strong in one on ones and loves to run the ball out of defence "Dashing David Dench" style; did that very well when he had the chance.

I have been on his bandwagon for a while and if he continues to improve, I would love to see him get a chance. He already has a strong, mature body (100kg+) at such a yound age and is athletic, I don't think you get young players like that too often. Give him a chance!!

Agree with the ACT KP backman development problems.

That is why you saw LRT be given game time merely because it was the only way they were going to be able to get him to a standard quick enough. It's a risky strategy though as you can just dent a players confidence completely never to see them return. Just look at Zac Dawson at the Hawks.

Will be a very handy player espeically if spida is out for a few weeks. hope we give some of our young guns a go this year i.e bird, barlow and grundy looked the goods on franklin

Are we expecting too much from Jesse?

He was drafted at pick 79 in 2006. Other Swan draftees in the 70's were Ricky Mott at 74 in 2001 and Simon Feast was 71 in 1998.

I like what I've seen so far and hope he becomes a permanent fixture in the side but I'm looking at history and it's saying no future.

We've had a few big lumps of lads in the past few years that have not gone on with it.

Why will Jesse be any different?
