Guys, does anyone know where Week 4 is being played? I feel like a day trip to Canberra.

I know that the AFL have booked out Manuka Oval (according to the Ansett Cup website page) ... hopefully it'll be for the Swans game.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

Yeah I would be shocked if it wasn't the swans. Only other possibility would be a Collingwood game I imagine.

The Swans do not usually have good access to grounds in Sydney during the summer.

                1. Because they fill up the stadium with over 10K people from the Riverina every year and raise lots of money for the local charities.

                2. So Sir Paul Kelly doesn't have to drive all the way to Sydney to assess the boys before the season proper.

It's an OK field. They water the footy field in Narranderra before they fill the local pool. They have priorities!!

Would you prefer Dubai and Albany? Or cairns (Rich/Melb)? Or Darwin (Dogs/Kangas). I like how they take the game to the country, all over Aust. It's great. And since it was Cats v Saints at Manuka on Sat, don't count your chickens that it'll be Sydney.

Plus so far the Swans have played in Launceston and greater Sydney. Hardly the Back of Bourke thus far.

And how much greater would the crowd have been if it had been Sydney playing there, even the commentators were joking about needing cardboard cutouts in the stands to look like there were some spectators. It seems Sydney is the only club to draw a reasonable crowd in Canberra.

Or a game involving the Demons or Bulldogs who will play a home game against us later in the year.

But its likely we'll end up playing there.

We didn't draw that many to the NAB Cup game there last season which we played in and even fewer to the practice match we played. So while we do pack them in for our games there during the home and away season, we have shown we don't for Pre Season matches, because maybe there aren't as many Swans fans travelling down (or up) for the match as there would for a home and away clash.
