Everitt confirmed as 'out' for round 1

Though in news likely to make Stella sad, the prospect of White coming in as his replacement is sounding less likely, based on Roos' comments. Let's hope he has a blinder against Charman and co this weekend to convince Roos that making a debut in that role is no bigger ask for him than getting Richards and/or LRT to ruck.

Tough opposition in the ruck in the first 2 rounds.

    King/Gardiner/Kozi
    Lade/Brogan

I'd be happier with LRT as the 2nd ruckman, as he will be as far away from the defensive 50 as possible.

That would mean there would be at least 5 changes from the elimination final side.

Out: Malceski, Fosdike, Everitt, Dempster, Schneider
In: Mattner, Buchanan, Ablett, Kennelly? (Brennan/Bird/White/Jack/Moore)?

Schmidt wasn't named among the 'new inclusions', so he seems likely to miss round 1 as well.

Definitely looks like Bird will play.

I agree, fingers crossed for Bird!! I would also like to see White given a crack. I know it is a tough challenge for him but we will select LRT anyway so those two can share the rucking duties. If there is a spot available, give him a crack, if not, so be it.

Roos appears to be playing his mind games again. A week ago he was saying that Mocca was in line to play if Spida didn't come up. In todays article he said this is unlikely. I'm personally hoping that Mocca plays this Saturday and has a big one.

If we accept that Sydney is playing its kids in the worst competition of any of the AFL clubs then White is always going to be up against more experienced players when he debuts. May as well throw him in Round 1, I certainly don't want to bring in a midfielder for a ruckman.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

if its only one week let jolly ruck most of the game, and have some pinch hitters in, saints rucks arent that good
Theres not much left to say

One would suggest that Roos will wait to see if the Saints go with both King & Gardiner along with Kossi up forward.

If both play, which will be the case if fit then I would be certain that White will play with LRT having to go into defence on one of their three tall forwards (G train, Kosi & Roo).

I thought Magilla Gorilla was injured and wouldn't be playing Round 1?
He should have retired at the end of last year.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

I think a lot of people tend to forget he's a very handy ruck man. OK he's not the best going around, but he'd make plenty of other teams as 1st pick ruck man.

King is a good player that can ruck, but not the best ruck man going around. Gardiner has had two years on the side lines, let's see what happens.
