Interesting account Satchmo...I must have been sitting quite close to you as we (well, Mum and I) were sitting behind the goals at the Ponsford end
(in M32). I actually didn't pick up that it was Leo who marked it, I do remember vividly watching Cox's kick inside the 50 and looking on (quite possibly in horror) as the pack formed, dreading that a Weagle would mark it and kick the winning goal after the siren.

I think I knew the moment I saw a Swan mark it that we'd won (Mum didn't even see the mark ), though I seriously doubt anyone sitting in our area would have heard the siren!

It was quite a weird feeling to say the least. Though I think having watched it so many times on TV may have distorted my memory of what happened at the ground a bit, I think it is one of the moments that you don't forget that easily because of the significance.

I was there. I'll never forget that day as long as I live. It still brings a lump to the throat and a tear or two to the eyes every time I see the ending of the GF.
        Red & White forever.

I remember thinking "@@@@ leo! Just take it SLOW!" then started screaming "TADHG WHAT THE @@@@ ARE YOU DOING?!" when he jumped on Leo - I had NO idea the siren had gone and it took a second to understand that we'd just won the flag! Still makes me cry when I watch it on the DVD!
