Cheap fares to Melb for Round 1

Was just having a look at the Virgin Blue website and noticed that they have a number of promo fares for flights from Syd to Melb leaving on Good Friday, ranging from $89-$99 and departing in the evening for those planning on heading down for the Round 1 game.

Coming back, they did have a few cheap fares from Melb to Sydney on the Monday but these seem to have been gone - you can get a return flight for $139 leaving at the crack of dawn on Easter Monday but that's about it.

Where will you be staying Xie Shan?

Im thinking about staying at the Kingsgate in the CBD. But don't know much about it.

    Has anybody been there?

Guys from the Cove stay there. They say it is ok. It is 2 or so blocks from Spencer St & seems ok if you want a bed & a place with a bar inhouse.

PS:- Don't forget the RWO regulars meet-up at the Colonial Pub on Latrobe & King from 4ish. It is generally pretty fun.

            Mine's $2.80. Or free if I get a lift.

So it's ok then? Is it a friendly place and no nuff nuffs there?

I might check out this Colonial Pub thingy.

I'll be in red and white.

I've stayed at the Kingsgate. It's OK but I reckon there are far better budget accomodations to be found in Melbourne, a couple in the CBD and a couple not far out.

But I am not going to tell you what they are until I've gotten around to booking somewhere for that weekend.

I'll be only staying there overnight so I don't want anything too flashy.

Hopefully you won't be staying in your hotel much either, you will be out celebrating a big win (fingers crossed).

There's at least a couple of good, cheap apartment style hotels on Spencer St - the Atlantis Hotel and the Harbour View Apartments. Very close to Spencer St bus and train station and the Dome.

I don't eat animals since discovering this ability. I used to. But one day the lamb I was eating came through to me and ever since then I haven't been able to eat meat.
