I agree that the SCG aint the best ground going round, but surely the criticism of its shape is unwarranted. It is a great part of the sport AFL that you have differenct shaped grounds and different sizes and can use them. Granted they need to do plenty of work to the SCG, but I like the place (Bar the ability to get in and out when its crowded etc). Its got a great atmosphere and is an intimate setting for footy. Just my take on it."You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment

I just find it hilarious that the initial criticism comes from somebody who chooses to sit at ground level behind the goals, the absolute worst place to get a perspective of anything, IMO of course.Driver of the Dan Hannebery bandwagon....all aboard. 4th April 09Comment

AAMI is a hole, the rake on the stands are far to gentle, the concourse around the venue are far too small making it hard to get around during breaks, it has a massive crest in the middle of the ground making it hard to see the opposite end of the ground at lower levels of seating.
And that is not to mention, you can't drink at your seats and it's lousy to get to from most points in Adelaide.
Unfortunately, despite the Crows, Power and he SANFL wishing to torpedo it the SA Government have just knocked back their attempts to build a new mini Telstra Dome somewhere in the park land near the city and public transport.

I think it was based on the Waverley Park, if not, it is pretty similar, just smaller. Waverley could hold about 80,000. Originally Waverley was designed to be the size of the members stand all of the way around and seat 133,000 people.AAMI is a hole, the rake on the stands are far to gentle, the concourse around the venue are far too small making it hard to get around during breaks, it has a massive crest in the middle of the ground making it hard to see the opposite end of the ground at lower levels of seating.

I know, Swantastic .. I know. I've tried to get out quickly after some games - eg. the semi against the Cats in 05 .. and simply couldn't do it!!
