We had our chances to nick it and couldn't take them. Very frustrating but we could have done it. You have to grab your opportunities when you can in games like this. Good effort to fight back after such a rotten start but it all counts for nothing now.

Should Moore have shot off his wrong foot or did he have other options? Hard to tell from the replay.

Hall's tackle on Schneider at the end deserved more than a behind that's for sure.

Credit to Saints - they led from start to finish. Though if both teams play like they did against other teams they'll get their butts kicked.

*sigh* I thought we had it in the bag when Moore had an attempt. Even the Triple M commentators thought he kicked a goal.

Horrible start to the season. What a @@@@en crap and scrappy game.

Interesting comment from Schneids about how tough it is to play against a team like us, not because it's his former club, buit how we man up better than anyone else. It clearly took him by surprise, which is odd as you'd think he'd have known!

Imagine what Geelong would have done to both these sides.

We are in for a long season I'm afraid. We just don't have the leg speed or the skill of the top sides. I didn't see anything tonight that would make me believe otherwise.

so close... I thought Moore had almost stolen it for us. Very good effort and some positive signs I think even though we had some very rough patches in that match. Was a crappy old game but it rarely isnt a crappy old game when we play St Kilda just the way the two teams match up. We could of really used the 4 points with our very tough start to the season. Exciting game to watch even if it was a crappy game in terms of quality.

                      St. Kilda 6.15 51
                      Sydney 6.13 49

Another ugly contest, another close loss and another woeful start to the season for Goodes. Only 7 possessions, ahead of Grundy (6) and Bevan (5). Goal kicking needs to be greatly improved, Hall needs brain surgery and Roos needs a new haircut.
I only support one team: The SYDNEY SWANS!!!!! :adore

And Im disgraced that people could be writing off the season already on the back of one game. Sure we didnt play well at all, but you could hardly call any of the matches played so far this weekend particulary good!

Is it just me or did anyone else think that some of the Swans players weren't reading Jolly's plays in the ruck?

He'd tap it one way and they'd be on the other side. One of the times resulted in a behind to Saints.

                            We lost by 2 - 51 to 49.

Out of the young kids Bird and Moore played well. Oh and Jack. Very impressed with Jack.
Get your facts right. Bevan didn't give away the 50 metres it was Kirk. Kirk had the ball in his hands when the free was given and he didn't throw it directly back to Fisher. Channell 10 showed Bevan in shot after the free 50 metres was given. I have checked the replay.

Sucks to lose a close one.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

I apologise. As you said they showed Bevan, that's why I said it. That's the only reason I said he gave away the free. First time I've actually made a mistake and get blasted for it (and heck I'm a Bevan fan).

Bevan played well tonight. Jude and some others on the other hand.

Still as someone said above much better display than round one last year.
