Some of the younger guys looked pretty overawed. Bird did some nice things, but Jack and Moore were pretty bad. Mattner unsighted and Hall looked like he has started where last season left off...i.e. doing nothing good.

Could have been a lot closer at quarter time if Hall had kicked straight. Maybe he should go back to the optometrist for a refund. He marks like a seal clapping.
He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.

Are you sure you haven't got Bird and Jack mixed up? Bird's had a few shockers while young Kieren's been one of our better players.

its funny how people see games in different ways.... Bird has been reasonably quiet but I reckon Jack has been really good esp in that 2nd quarter and Moore did some good stuff as well like that beautiful kick into the forward 50 for Mickys mark.
You are also very harsh on Hall I think. He hasnt done a lot by he has already had 3 shots at goal which by last seasons efforts aint a bad 1st half. And he actually looks half confident to go in hard at the ball.

        Much much better 2nd quarter!

wow....different team there in the second quarter...maybe they juiced up on the gatorade at quarter time....still can't get my head around the fact Jude actually kicked a goal...
"Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."

            Great bump by Jack!

Whatever happens it is great to follow a team that doesn't give up or get blown away.

I'm happy with all the new players, quite a few errors but they have been getting enough of the ball and taking the game on so no complaints. They can only improve.

Jolly has been disappointing at times and Goodes can improve (and surely will in the second half.

Well, that was better. Well done Jack and Moore. C'mon Swans, Saints are frontrunners, let's belt them in qtr 3.

Jack has played a sensational quarter - fast, tough and skillful. Mattner has made a few mistakes but has good run through the lines. Jude and NOG did well in the midfield in the second quarter. Malcom Blight is still abysmal - Jolly to Centre Half Forward and Goosey to the Ruck FFS.

Goodes has been woeful so far barely seen at all. That was an awesome bump by Jack Im sure his father will be very proud of that! Must agree SCG about the young blokes they are getting in there and having a real dig even if they are making mistakes. I wish Jolly would look before just tapping it anywhere- he wins enough hitouts but often it goes to noone in particular or to the other team. There are even times when he could just catch the ball and then dispose of it but he doesnt look to see whats on offer.

I liked Davo playing off half forward/the wing in that quarter. I'd like to see that a bit more.

A really good quarter from some of the young guys. How good was Moore's kick to MOL? I reckon he's been able to do that the past 3 years and his body has been as AFL ready as Bird's the whole time too.

I think going with LRT as back-up ruckman was a mistake.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline

4 disposals so far from Goodes, pathetic.

Agreed and agreed. I only hope being level at half time with Goodesy being poor is a good sign.

Not sure that Mattner ducking his head and running at full pelt is a great idea.

Oh, and this game has driven home more than anything to me that backmen really pad their stats without having to do much.
