Lets hope they know what they are doing and aren't gambling his future on this season. I look forward to Malceski playing for us for a long, long time.

Lat night Williams was questioning the condition of the ground with a cricket pitch having been there a week ago etc.

How hard is that for a journalist to confirm? A little lazy by Jamie.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

So he's alredy making excuses. (but where is it mentioned in that story?)

It was good to see some good old mud in the centre square in the Pies/Lions match last night. How would Williams cope with that?

It's situations like this that drive home just how unsuitable the SCG is for AFL. Why do we persist with the SCG as a venue? It's stupid to schedule a game there if the cricket pitch was re-surfaced only 10 days ago. I just hope we don't cop any serious injuries from it on Sunday.

Probably more like he is setting up a 'sting' for the AFL if a player gets injured on the weekend.
I reckon Williams has it in for the AFL more than anyone else.
And the media, and well, pretty much everyone.

But I like him, he certainly says what he means....

The ones that were in the article when it first went up last night. It was a much longer piece, also talking about the selection surprise of yesterday.

Hey, they chopped a whole lot of the article off! The article was about twice as long when I first read it, and it went into how the ground was very hard, etc. Censorship?

I'm really worried about this, the prospect of having the Eski back by Round 10 is exciting but after reading a couple more articles about this I hope he hasn't taken an unnecessary risk:

Malceski could be back by rd 8

Malceski op big mistake: old Dogs

The Sheahan article is encouraging as a number of American gridiron players have had the same surgery and have been back playing in weeks, but the Age article is freaking scary. I hope it will be OK!

It's a bit hard to compare operations done over 20 years ago with those done today.
