Ablett was very good today. Sure, not the best, but he actually looked, dare I say it about such a usually dour player, exciting! But I guess that goes for most of the side. He was a little bit wayward with his disposal, but he was quite creative, and he did a good defensive job on top of that.

Also, Grundy did well. He actually showed that he DOES have a decent motor, something which I previously thought he lacked. I was at the game, and he ran pretty damn hard. It's a pity he is as slow as he is. That will always hold him back, but I was impressed today. Oh, and also, he did a much better job in defence today than he usually does in defence. I have always preferred him as a forward, but maybe now he's starting to find his feet more in defence. Ack, I just can't make up my mind on him! It's so frustrating!
Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!

I suspect he will be back though (although it was pretty ridiculous to drop him after just 1 week anyway).
Would it not be possible to have Cheese & Davo in the same team? I can't see why not, as they play totally different types of games. Davo is a small forward, Barlow is more of a ball getter/distributor.

I agree with you that he should still be in the forward line as a decoy leading forward. I think you'll find his slowness is a result of playing his footy in the FF line for so long.

Still he was pretty good today. But against a team who gives up like Port, it would be hard to not be able to play well today, it has to be said.

Definitely. I don't think they are a straight swap at all.

davis does not have a straight swap in the team, mainly because he is one of the few who has excellent kicking skills.

He should be an automatic inclusion every week. Seems to be less tolerance for him than any other player.

At least they shoudl ask Davis to give some kicking lessons to ROK and B2. Their kicking from set shots yesterday was woeful.

His problem is not so much what he does when he has the ball but what he doesn't do when he hasn't got it.

This myth has becoming increasingly viewed as fact. I watched him last week off the ball and he constantly ran and made position and chased.

Yesterday was a concentrated team effort, even Barry Hall chased and harrased well. It's a bit rich to say Nick isn't doing his part when all the others aren't doing much either.

I simply believe he just isn't liked by the leadership group (senior players), and he is ignored by them during the game and off the field. This makes it awkward for the coaching staff to work with.

I think there is a lot to that.

Davis didnt do anything wrong - he isnt injured just purely for match up.
Yesterday while waiting for the game to start, I watched Port do their warm up. Up close just near where they were warming up - those guys are huge even Motlop is quite tall much bigger than I thought he was.

So I think the extra height and bulk was the factor from what I hear
                            Love those Swans

I agree with you Bloods, the myth is usually perpetrated by people who watched the game on tv. You see very little of the off ball action when you don't see it live.

Lions have a reasonable ruck combination of Charman and Leuenberger (sp?) that seems to be working ok - with Spida out and Goodes a possibility chances we might see a debut from another tall like White et al?
