Should Goodes be dropped?

I can tell you he won't be dropped any time soon.
Someone in another thread just compared McHack to Goodesy.
Now, you're comparing Davo to Goodesy.
THERE IS NO COMPARISON. Goodesy is not as expendable as say, Davo or McHack. He is the opposition coach's greatest nightmare. Who will they put on Goodesy? Even when he's playing crap - he's still a nightmare.
He is our most elite player - some respect, please., 20 odd touches I think.
Having him and Cheese charging around from one end of the field to the other, in tandem, will be a sight to behold and extremely hard for other teams to match up on.Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MTComment

I can't see Goodes ever being dropped but I thought he was quite poor in the first half yesterday. He seemed to just expect to get the ball rather than running to create space and opportunity.
And if Roos wants to drop Nick Davis for not chasing and creating pressure then there are more than a few examples of Goodes doing exactly the same thing yesterday."As everyone knows our style of football is defensive and unattractive, and as such I have completely forgotten how to mark or kick over the years" - Brett Kirk

one thing i noticed yesterday was he looks like he has lost a bit of pace.
even in the 2nd half when he was better he still wasn't breaking away, you never know he could be carrying something.
but he will never be dropped as even half fit,or half his best he is still a very good player.
the best thing about is his brownlow odds have crept outComment

Buckley was never dropped for form but he did turn out for Williamstown on occassion.

Compare Goodesy and Davo all you like.
Goodesy will never be dropped the way Davo gets dropped.Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Yes, that's because of different standards for different players. J Bolton underperformed for all of 2007 yet was not dropped - was even rewarded with a new contract and pay rise.Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

Spot on and thats one big problem with our team. Make an example of Davis but Goodes, Hall, Kirk, Bolton etc could walk out and stand there for two hours with their hands on their hips and not get dropped.Comment

i doubt he is actually not trying, but when goodes goes missing he looks so disinterested.
I half expect him to hit the showers at half time and be off at club swans during the 3rd quarter at times.
I wouldnt drop him for round 3, but if he doesnt pull his finger out why not drop him, no player is bigger than the teamTheres not much left to sayComment
