Moore isn't exactly a newbie either.

At least Moore is a newbie in the sense he's only played a handful of games. McVeigh's been a constant in the team for two full seasons, and played a substantial amount of games in 2004 and 2005 as well.

Was also interesting to hear that Barlow is regressing. Last week one of the commentators was talking about him after he kicked his goal, saying it was only his 12th senior game. Yet apparently this evening he played his 3rd, according to Rohan Smith.

I realise that attention to detail might be beyond some of these blokes, but how hard is it to get a sheet of paper that gives you basic stats / info that you might want to wibble on about during the game?

was super impressed with Mcveigh and have been all season. I really have been a doubter of him but if he can do what he has done for the first 3 weeks for the rest of the season he will be right up there in B&F. What he seems to have found over the off season is the ability to get the ball out of congestion and get some good contested possesions. And he even seems to be starting to kick straight more often then not. May it long continue!!!

I think McVeigh has really come on and maybe it has something to do with having some other younger players in the team who have freed him up.I watched hime sprint down the wing last night and he is very fast.He may find space because he has this uncanny ability to run so quickly away from the packs.
I will eat humble pie and say that I am (so far) glad we kept him.Our hierachy seem to have a good inkling on who can do what.

We're a better side without Davis. Harder at the contest in the forward line
You don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory! You sit them in the front row. You give them a hat! Toby Ziegler

Maybe people will get off McVeighs back now,,

Always knew he was a talented player.maybe with knockers off his back he can run freely..

That particular cross to Rohan Smith was just awful. He seemed like a 5 year old kid who was really excited and wanted to say something, just didn't really know what he wanted to say.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Well done McVeigh - I shall have to eat my hat AND my handbag if you keep it up.
Has Roosy taken the shackles off and said "run free"?

Great to see Jarred in this vain of form.
Always thought it was around , really believe Roosy has installed some faith in him and he looks the part at the moment.
He would be leading the B/F at the moment easily, rekon his brothers form is helping by the way as they are very close and in regular contact.

He is playing the role that Fosdike would otherwise take. That is allowing him to be free.

He has played well this year, but for most part has been allowed to roam as he pleases.

His skills are still suspect, but he has made a huge improvement in getting the ball.

Although I expect that is less the ability but more the position. Whilst Fosdike is out, McVeigh will continue to play this role.

I guess the real question is... can we have two Fosdikes?

Possibly not and I think Fosdike plays this role a bit better. McVeigh's challenge will be when he either has less space and more attention, or if he has to continue to get the ball and provide an attack over an extended number of games.
Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.
