Yes, but we've beaten all sides alphabetically behind us. Just as relevant

I'm happy we're not playing Adelaide to be honest

That's starting to draw a long bow given that very few players from the North 1999 and Essendon 2000 premiership teams are still playing.

There were very few from the Lions' premiership teams either.

              What about Rd 1 ??

We only lost by 2 points to the side that won the '66 flag and won the ................ OK, as you were.

                Back on topic...

I have followed the Swans for too many years to ever be confident before a game.

We have to win because if we get thrashed it is because BBB was not there and if we just lose it will be Swans could have won if BBB had been playing. No win situation unless we beat them.

Back in the Eade days, I'd watch with horrible fascination as the Swans found another way to lose the unlosable game. However, since Roos arrived I've felt strangely confident that the players and coaches - the team - would manage to perform well above public perception, especially when their backs are against the wall.

I think of the Qualifying final again Port when Goodes set the ground on fire - and the 2005 SCG game against the undefeated Saints when we didn't let them in the game while we ran away with it. Sure we fell short in the 2004 PF against the Lions - and simply lost against the Pies in the final last year. But, whether Roos is smarter than other coaches or the self-empowerment he imparts to the players has produced results far above a look at our list would suggest.

I'm expecting us to win at Skilled on Saturday - and beating the other "undefeated" teams down the line. I don't know how - but that might be why I'm not coaching the team (yet). Anyone feel likewise??
It might interest you to know that Eades's record in away games during the season is virtually the same as Roos's. We've won about 21% of all away games under both coaches, with Eade's losing record in these games only marginally worse than Roos's. However, Roos has a much better record than Eade in away finals, winning 4 out of 8, compared to none out of 4 for Eade.

I was wondering what are the 4 away finals games that we've played under Roos that we've won.

Surely you cant include the Grand Final, that would be considered a neautral game.

Probably worth considering our fairly solid daytime record too, although without Hall the difference in light won't be so important!

I really feel great and relaxed when the Swans are the rank underdogs. In today's Daily Telegraph, even Tim Morrissey picks the Cats! So far, of the over 70 press "expert tipsters", I have found that only two- Jim Main (Inside Football) and Troy Luff (SMH) have tipped the Swans.

It reminds me of that particular sweet year of 2003. In games such against Collingwood (Round 6/Docklands); Brisbane (Round 7/SCG) and Port Adelaide (QF/Football Park), the Swans got up to win in major upsets. Indeed, I recall for the Port game we were $7!

I take your point Still, the GF wasn't played in Sydney, and we hadn't won any finals in Melbourne since the PF in 1945.

Confident? you bet! This is only the 7th time I have travelled interstate to watch the boys play. To date we have won every time.

They both lost 4. Looks pretty even to me.
