Well our values are obviously different if you think it is OK to cheat if you get away with it.

That is just downright cheating and totally outside the spirit of the game.

I'd be very disappointed if the Swans did it, not to say I don't expect them to ever do it, but I'd be disappointed just the same.

I don't think it's okay to cheat, but is it so different to other things that stretch the rules, like Cressa faking a free kick or Lloyd diving?

That didn't cost them the game. With 3 min to and 3 goals in front, stepping out of play and taking a kick-in is a perfectly sensible thing to do.

As I said, the Tiggers were very stiff. Even though the footage is inconclusive one way or the other, it is hard to fathom why Foley would just drop the ball when he was tackled, leading to Cross' (?) goal after the 'rushed' behind. Foley claimed he handballed and considering he had both arms clear, you'd have to believe him. The footage was inconclusive and the umpire has definately 'guessed'.

I thought he definitely got a fist to the ball. However, if tackled then you need to actually make a proper contact with your fist to propel the ball away otherwise the umpire will typically pay a free kick. He tried to just touch the ball to the ground to keep control.

The umpire guessed and probably got it wrong. The thing is, if that happened and it was 6 points the difference and a minute to go rather than 18 points and 3 minutes, I believe the umpire would not have made the call on a guess. As it turned out, it was just as relevant in determining the result.

On the 'cheating' thing, I see the Harris/Lake phantom injury scam as much more unpleasant than a dive for a free, but I understand your thinking and we can go round in circles as we both agree it was outside the spirit of the game, just I moreso.

The umpire guessed and probably got it wrong. The thing is, if that happened and it was 6 points the difference and a minute to go rather than 18 points and 3 minutes, I believe the umpire would not have made the call on a guess. As it turned out, it was just as relevant in determining the result.

Yes, I think the umpire did guess and probably thought it didn't matter. However, they do sometimes penalise players trying to handball it down to their feet to keep it close.

I worked at the game staying near Richmond Grog Squad. That most definitely was an experience! They definitely are the most like soccer fans in the AFL-very volotile, smash things when things on the field go wrong, swear a bit. And sing!

Was so well worth staying. Watching non-Swans games can be so cool. Bulldogs games are very very watchable; there is so much open space in will-of-the-wisp running types who get the ball from one end of the ground to the other in a flash. Don't know how they managed to stay in it to be honest. But when Richo et all started chipping around in the backline I thought "The Tigers are playing with fire here".

Richmond will be bitterly disappointed they let that slip. But the footy they played for much of the day was equally as pleasant on the eye. They sure like Richo at Punt Rd; if he played for my team I reckon I'd hate him.

I actually don't mind Richo, he works his butt off most times and plays the game 110%

On top of all that, he gets the same raw deals off the scumps that Barry Hall gets. Rarely gets looked after in the Lloyd, Riewoldt mould.

And here's an admission from Richo that he was awarded a goal line mark when he knew the ball had crossed the line. Stopped a Doggies' goal. So maybe the draw was the fair result after all.

All said and done, I'm glad he doesn't play for the swans. I doubt I'd enjoy his goal kicking if I was worried about the result of the game.

And the HITB call against him Vs Essendon last year was a disgrace.
