Don't forget that thread started on BigFooty comparing the Eagles' midfield to the Lions' triple premiership midfield shortly after the 2006 GF.

Whatever happened to that "window of opportunity" Wallsy was talking about? It's the half-way point and they're already contenders for the spoon. Dynasty indeed.

We won our 2006 flag in a particularly strong year.

The moron in the train after the 06 GF told me the Illegals were going to win the next 3 flags and that we wouldn't even make the finals in 07.

        Premiership dynasty.

Someone here in the West wrote a letter to the Sunday Times (newspaper) having a whinge about travel for football teams - i.e the Wet Toast disadvantaged by travelling. Ho-hum! Have been hearing that for 21 years. Nothing said about the massive home ground advantage they have. Such hypocritical whingers over here.
I notice too we aren't getting that really old SGIO ad where the huge Eagle towers over a bunch of small quivering birds in other afl colours. Funny that.

            Dynasty - pffft!

You disagree that we have a disadvantage by travelling?

Does anyone have one of those big old wooden spoons that people used to hang on the wall back in the 1970's?? I'm looking for one to paint canary yellow and blue to give to my husband as a gift. Or maybe a blue and yellow tank??
(I'm a caring sharing kind of wife. )

                        PS. Go Dees!!
I might have a slight drinking problem. My husband asked me to toast some bread for him...so I raised my wine glass and said "Here's to bread!"

In the last couple of weeks Melbourne have beaten a finals contender and the Eagles have been spanked by the Tigers, at home, without Richo.

                            Coming up -

                            West Coast: Brisbane (a), St Kilda (H), Fremantle (a), Essendon (H), Melbourne (a), Hawthorn (H), Geelong (a).

                            Melbourne: Fremantle (a), Kangaroos (H), Essendon (a), Geelong (H), West Coast (H), Port (a), Richmond (H).

                            Fremantle: Melbourne (H), Port (a), West Coast (H), Sydney (a), St Kilda (H), Richmond (a), Collingwood (H).

                            Notes:

The Eagles play Hawthorn and Geelong in the last two rounds. The Eagles couldn't get within 20 goals of Geelong at home a few weeks ago, what are they going to do when they play Geelong away?

All three sides play each other. This is the best chance that the Eagles have to avoid the spoon. If the Eagles lose both games (the Eagles play Melbourne in round 20), you can put down your glasses for the 2008 wooden spoon.

The Eagles will be without Kerr for four weeks.

Overall, I would say the chances of the Eagles "winning" the spoon is looking better and better every week.

Oh, and another note, here are the current wooden spoon odds from Sportsbet:

                              West Coast: $2.00
                              Melbourne: $2.20
                              Fremantle: $6.00
                              Port Adelaide: $67.00

Which team is the current favourite?

If the Dockers are $6 for the spoon then I might have to splurge.
