My primary role at the game tomorrow is to have a very close look at Bevo to see what he actually does.

I'll be looking at efficiancy, blocking, chasing, touch and feel, running off and genuinely contested posessions etc.

bevan would struggle to get a game at most clubs, even melbourne? im not sure why he gets a game with us week in week out. You cannot deny he busts his guts but he doesnt have the skills to be a consistent afl player, he has not got any up side left in him, better of developing someone with talent.
Theres not much left to say

        A defensive utility - ok

But since when have we had quarterbacks?

I assume you mean - centre line or forward..

Please get it right - too many Americanisms are creping into the game through idiot media.

A European film-maker made an entire documentary out of following Zidane around for a game.

It's time some Aussie film-maker stepped up to make "Bevo!" so we can see behind the legend.

So you would also object to pinch hitter, impact player, interchange, replay, sweeper and tough guy???? What's wrong with incorporating words and concepts from other games if appropriate. Provided of course we don't play their wretched football. Are you part of the Taliban funadamentalist faction that posts on this board that doesn't want the game to progess beyond prop and cop and kick it long?

Don't know if there is a current Aussie director could really capture the toughness. Martin Scorsese could do it though.

This sort of invention is right up there with your descriptions of Bevan!
Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

                        BLOODY OATH I OBJECT.

I also object to your inference that I belong to a terrorist organisation..

I have seen the game change from the long kick and mark - to a running attacking game - and now constant ebb and flow contest of possession and disciplined structured play.

Just because I don't accept the need to change the language of our great game, I don't expect to have such derisory and malicious comments made about me or others who do not happen agree with you.

                        I would expect an apology

Paul "WPIF" Bevan would have to be second to Triple M for Most Improved Clubman. Way to go Young Bevo, keep it up!!

Interesting to read through ther minutes of the Bevo Appreciation Society.

                                Particularly this bell ringer:

It's a hypothetical. Along the lines of our best side. I don't see Bevan in it until Barry retires.

                                And this rip snorter:

I find it bizarre and quite amusing that people can really think Bevan is clearly in our best 22 when we have our full-strength team, and that he effectively plays a multitude of different roles. The benchmark he is measured on is so low that there is little point in having it. Currently he's a fringe player at best. The most amusing part are the roles Connolly invents to describe his play

Would you like some bacon with your egg sir?
