To be honest everyone above me lept up so I didn't see the goal line. Those down the front swear it was a goal.

After watching the replay and the still frame images, you can clearly see the umpire watching the ball pass over the line. At the time the ball is touched the umpire is looking over his left shoulder, clearly indicating that if his eyes are on the ball it must be over the line he is straddling.

A really bad error. The ump should know that it must be a goal with his head in that position.

Just watched it again, given what someone else has said, that it came off the hand of the defender and hit the back of the post, it had to be a goal. It appears that almost everyone on the ground except for the goal umpire thought it was also.

Yeah everything I have seen this morning indicates very clearly a goal.

Last years draw at the Gabba cost us pretty dearly (a home final), let's hope this one isn't as costly.

I was sitting 4 rows back from the fence in the pocket (just to the left of the point post) and had a perfect side on view of the goalline and Ferrito's touch. EVERYONE to a man went up KNOWING it was a goal. Then that douche-bag pinhead of a goal 'umpire' tapped his hand like a mincing fag and I can tell you I wanted blood. As if the umps hadn't done enough already to ensure the 'roos a win!

They're doing their best to help keep the bushrats in Melbourne.
I would welcome a second Sydney team, if it meant that the bushrats folded.

Yeah, I can't comment on whether it was a goal or not cos I didn't have a good angle and haven't seen a reply...but the goal umpire did take longer than usual to make the call...strange.

Kennelly has called for video refs and extra time. It sounds like the team thought it was a goal also. I'm not too sure about video refs, as they still don't get half the decisions right in League. Extra time sounds like a good idea to me. A draw just leaves everyone with that flat feeling of nothingness.

Must have been a strong wind in the Dome, to be touched "before" the line, and then swing around and hit the back of the post.

The entire ball has to clear the back end of the padding on the posts to be called a goal, so it is feasible that it was touched in time and still hit the post, but it really doesn't look that great.

Again, the goal ump was in the best position....
