Of course. That doesn't change the fact that currently, Roos is exceeding expectations. Whatever happens in the future, happens in the future. Currently, there is absolutely no reason to believe Roos is performing badly.

True. But with a fit Everitt, Malceski, Fosdike, Crouch, then I wonder how many we would have playing?

Ever the cynic! I guess we'll just find out when they get back, won't we? Of course, Matthews isn't injured, but he isn't playing. Give Roos SOME credit!

Do you really think Roos would have dropped those four or four others to make way for young players?

Did you really think Roos would drop Matthews at the end of last year? Seriously, it's impossible to tell what Roos is thinking these days. All you can judge is the fact that Matthews has been playing in the reserves all year in favour of playing a younger player. Also, Roos dropped Davis in favour of a younger kid. As it turned out, that has been a good move, because Davis has done jack since he has returned. What more can you ask? Bolton to be dropped? I don't think he has been that bad. Not great, and I would like to see him dropped for next week's game, but I think dropping him any earlier would have been a little premature.

J Bolton was poor all of last year and has shown little improvement this year.

Maybe dropping Davis after rd 1 was a bad move and may have contributed to him doing little since he came back. Coincidentally our forward line has not had much of the ball and each of the other forwards has not played well in the games Davis has played, so it's not entirely his fault.

Until someone tells me that there is someone who can go and get it regularly bolton should not be dropped. one of our problems is that unless kirk or goodes get the ball bolton is our only other player who can get it. true his disposal is incredibly poor (why is it that our three top 5 picks all struggle to kick accurately ?) but he will get it in a contest

Not sure if he can actually get it out to anyone effectively though.

In 2005, Brisbane had finished their run and Geelong hadn't started theirs. Does anyone on here think we would have beaten 07 Geelong or the 02 Lions with the footy played in 2005. We were in the right place at the right time in 2005.

I was really upset by the way we played yesterday and usually I am quite upbeat, even when we lose badly.

But I don't blame the coach. The Swans support team (ie everyone apart from the players) are in my view geniuseseses. What they have achieved in keeping the Swans playing finals football from 96 to now is just incredible and to have won a premiership after 72 years - magic.

Roos in particular is a smart guy and an excellent coach. I'm half listening to Alastair Clarkson as I write this on On The Couch - is he a better coach than Roos because the Hawks are doing well? Is he better now than two years ago? Or does having high draft picks for years have something to do with it. What about Bomber - is he a genius and if so how come Geelong were so average in 2006 with basically the same team.

I think if Sydney had the support team that most other clubs have we would not have won in 2005 and we would have won less than we have in recent years. We are lucky as fans to have had the success we have had with so many weaknesses.

That's a ridiculous thing to say. Why not say that Geelong were lucky because they weren't playing the 2005 Swans or 2006 Eagles, or Port were lucky because they didn't face the 2001-2003 Lions?
