What would you know! Roos is the mastercoach and he uses precise and penetrating kicks like Kirk, J Bolton, Mathews and Ablett in the midfield... (and then laments our poor ball use... )

Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

very true he is the man with his finger on the pulse

i guess the use of the players you mention keeps the opposition defence guessing where the ball will go
Theres not much left to say

I have to raise this just out of curiosity. Why would you include a slowish loose defender with poor disposal (Brennan) at the expense of a very hard tackling, tight defender with precision disposal who is also able to pinch hit up forward, quarterback and tag and is aerobically strong enough to run with quick midfielders, and who kept Shannon Grant to two kicks. (Bevo)????

You left out Paul Williams. Brilliant outside midfielder with a beautiful penetrating kick. Was and has been almost irreplaceable. Our inside mids are very good at the job they do. With Willo we had a very well balanced midfield. Without him we lack the polish to buff up the hard work of the blokes you are bagging. Presumably you would also bag West (kicks 30 metres with a gale behind him), Lecuria (dished it out to Fig all the time and was a worse kick than Kirky), Swan (ditto) and Harvey (Sainter) dinky little kick and Harvey (Kangas) who couldn't hit a gasometer from 30 metres and Bell who makes Buchanon look like Bobby Skilton?

I think the extra 5 people have tipped the weight of the bandwagon. Connolly at the wheel has lost control!

Not at all. Just philosophical and perplexed, more in sorrow than in anger.

One of my all-time favourite Swans.

Or perhaps drop one if the inside midfielders and try some outside ones.

Okay... you're comparing to them now... interesting...

What we lack in the middle is a bit of pace (as well as just a smidgeon of class). But pace is telling. I don't think you need that much of it, but a couple of players who can break the lines is always handy. We have enough of it on the backline but not in players who can play onball roles. And in that respect we miss Maxfield as well as Williams. (Although both are probably thought of as "outside" mids, their "inside" ability wasn't shoddy.)

And it is why the rapid development of Jack is so critical because he brings exactly that.
