There was nowhere near the number of stacks on the mill where a team mate jumps on top to hold the ball in and they didn't seem to have to "move the ball on" from on the ground packs, probably because there were less packs.

After having spend months thinking the whole idea was a complete joke, I really started to find myself getting increasingly fascinated by it all, perhaps lured by the prospect of seeing the creme de la creme of the sport in action & not 15 men around the ball the whole time.

I went, I tried, but when it ain't the red & white I just don't care I'm afraid. I got a free ticket in the Dream Team cheer squad so in theory it was no skin off my nose. But people like Hatley wasted $300 + on flights & accom coming from Sydney for the game. I felt sorry for them to be honest.

I came, I went, I tried to get into it, but just couldn't. Had a lot of difficulty recognising any of the non-Swans players, especially in their all-white guernseys (that disturbing showed off Matthew Richardson's disturbing pair of bitch tits! ) The thing was, neither could many other people either as shown by the constant Mexican waves ringing around the ground in the last quarter, even when the result was in doubt.

Full credit to the Crows Supporters Group people who led the "Dream Team!!!" chants. Even if the very thought of that is extremely I seriously couldn't get motivated about getting really passionate about cheering on a team that meant nothing & we will never see again. The Richmond North Eagles & Freo people around me kind of felt the same. The Victorians at least had something to cheer for. We didn't really.

Sitting with opposition cheer squads was interesting but all were friendly and there was even a dream team cheer going after each goal even though a lot of us were barracking for both teams! I didn't really mind who won having two Swans in each team.
The only downside was the dickheads doing the mexican wave in the last quarter and throwing rubbish in the air!
It was weird having all these different cheer squad people sitting together. It was kinda cliquy actually. Swans people talking to Swans people, the Freo people amongst themselves, the Tigers people behind me swapping biscuits. And Adelaide trying to look important & run everything, with Port tagging behind them like little lapdogs.

I'll be happy to go to the game next week where I'll know what to wear, know how to act, will know what colours I should be brandishing.

Why the need to cheer? Why not just enjoy the football which was sensational.

I agree with you finally Bloods. lol I wasn't sure about this game last night, but throughout the game, I actually enjoyed it.

I thought Brent Harvey was stiff though, not to get the Allan Alyett medal. He was brilliant. So was Peter Burgoyne for the Dream-Team.

Interesting to see that the AFL said it was a success, but hasn't mentioned it would return in the future.

I wasn't planning on watching it, but I saw most of it and it was thoroughly entertaining. Great skill, pace, everything that footy is about. Regardless of the result, it was great for the game.
Hmm, then why was I decidedly underwhelmed watching it live?

It was probably the type of match best enjoyed from the couch in your jarmies with a nice cup of coco.

PS:- I noticed the strange habit of having players from the Dream Team making sideways leads from kick-outs. They were all running from side to side in straight lines at the 30-50m mark. And I thought the set-up the Swans had for kick outs was weird?

No adrenalin rush=no enjoyment of the footy at all.

I've never understood why people follow a sport if they're not particularly interested in the sport.
