High effectiveness is not surprising when most of your possessions are uncontested sideways chips. If you look through his stats he's probably had effective contested possessions in only 2 games and his effectiveness on CP will be no more than 40%..Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

The whole concept of effectiveness needs to be used with caution, IMO. It is one minor piece of information that can tell you something, but nothing like watching a game with your eyes.
Firstly it takes no account of "hurt factor". I'd almost be happy, for example, if Malceski's effectiveness was only around 50% if that meant that the other 50% were long sizzling passes that hit the chest of a forward 30m out from goal, as his kicks often are. It would be nice if to have an effectiveness greater than 50% but that stat would be far more valuable to the team than Mathews, say, having a 100% effectiveness,
And even some kicks that are rated ineffective can still be valuable to the team. For example, O'Keefe is prone to play on quickly when he takes a mark and pump the ball forward. He doesn't have the skill of a Moore or a Malceski to necessarily spot up a target but at least by getting the ball in quickly it gives the forwards a chance to compete on the ground, maybe locking the ball up with a tackle even if an opponent takes possession.Comment

LOL...just like against the undermanned druggies a year or so ago...we'll find a way to lose it...mind you if there's no McPhee to run out of bounds with the ball yet still get it to McVeigh (???) for a match-winning goal thanks to incompetent umpiring, we may have a shot still at this one..."Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."Comment

Round 8: Swans vs Bombers
Thank god it's Thursday and we can start to talk about real footy again. I am hoping for a BIG win on Sunday to give us some momentum. We've flattened off a bit (or it feels like it) and we need to balance our Win/Loss ration back in our favour.
Fletcher back in is a bit of a pain with those big wierd white hands like Micky Mouse. Who do we plonk down in the F50 to keep him busy?
Will we see McVeigh on McVeigh?Comment

I'll be happy with a win of ANY magnitude on Sunday, as long as we win.Comment

Don't put this one down as a win just yet. As much as I loathe and detest the bummers, I still think they can beat us, even without a stackful of their better players, if we come out to play like we have in the past couple of matches...and don't forget that we have been really slow plonkers getting started again from mid-season breaks in the past..."Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."Comment
