Channel 7 not showing Essendon game live in Melbourne!

True, for the most part.

This time around C7 actually have the rights to go live on Friday nights, but choose not to.

The '96 Prelim is on C7 now . . .

They may have the rights to go live on Friday night but no FTA commercial television station in Australia is going to show these games before 8.30pm.

It just does not make sense commercially not to mention half your audience is still on their way home at 7.30pm.

Well that was an enjoyable 3 hours of ads with a bit of footy in between.

C7 doesn't do themselves any favours by the way they package the delayed game. Need to run it just like a live game the same as C10 does with Saturday afternoons, inlcuding a proper aftermatch.

Their contract with the AFL fobids them to show it before 3.00pm in Melbourne but they could at least show it properly.

Ring Channel 7 and tell them:

"I'm mad as hell, and I'm not going to take it anymore."

Tell them that you'll be taking note of the advertisers and making appropriate decisions when you're up at the shops. Tell them that you'll be doing everything possible to demonstrate how dissatisfied you are with 7's LATE and COMMERCIAL-RIDDEN footy broadcasts.
