Perhaps we could each focus on a different week. Will that be a problem?Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

I don't find your premise obvious at all. You are equating ladder position with current form. I don't think that Port's ladder position is indicative of their current form. While I agree that we should and can win the other four games, I don't think Port in Adelaide will be easy. It's one we could lose and can probably afford to without losing touch with the top 4 (not that I dont want to - nothing much pleases me more than beating the feral Port scum in Adelaide).Occupational hazards:

So have we settled on one game a week?
I think I'm generally optimistic about the Swans' prospects. But, after being defeated by my garden I watched some of the Port-Horks game, then avoided the domestic scene altogether yesterday by going to the Bombers game. If Port play as they did and we play as we did, I reckon we'll get done by 50 points.Comment

No one said it would be easy. But didn't Port Adelaide just lose? And disn't we absolutely pump them a few weeks ago? I mean they're not that bad a team but if you want to start using current form as a barometer, well then we should waltz it in.Comment

This is a game we need to win if we have serious top 4 aspirations, but by no means one we can just expect to turn up and play a half of football and still expect to win.

Dead right. Whether or not we win this week, the Swans under Roos are generally one of the more consistent teams in the comp at beating lesser lights. (However, I don't agree that Port in their current form, in Adelaide, qualify as a 'lesser light'. This is a side travelling very differently to when they played us a few weeks back.)
In what is, viewed in its totality, a pretty favourable draw for Sydney this year, 4 matches in Rs 15-20 will provide a stern test... and that block of 6 weeks will be bookended with 2 matches against recent bogy side Collingwood in Rs 14 and 21. If we can 50/50 those 6 games, then we can pretty confidently say that we're set up for a top 4 spot.Comment

The Hawthorn v Port game was high quality football by both teams. I understand what you're syaing, however I don't think we should be too concerned if we lose to Port at AAMI. I would, however, be concerned about losing any of the other four games.Occupational hazards:

The point I'm making is that we need to win these games. Yes losing to Geelong, Dogs and Hawks may all be "honorable" losses because they're in such great form, but we need to win a few away games against those "middle of the road" teams like Port, Saints, Kangas, Lions, Crows. To date, we're one win, one loss and a draw. Wins against these teams are worth double as these are the teams we'll be fighting against for the final top four spot.Comment

I think our reasoning might have been different though. Mine isn't on the basis of Port's form, it's on the basis of there being 3 undefeated teams after 8 rounds, and the Crows 1.5 games ahead of us too. Port will be in the mix come Rd 22, so this is one of those 8 point games in cliche-speak.
The other games we should win based on form, with the St Kilda game the only other one where you would have a question mark.
