The chicken wing tackle is a blight on the game. It looks like a policeman trying to restrain a hooligan. Doesn't look good for rotator cuffs. If a defender can't even touch the raised arms of a forward in a marking contest, the CWT looks way worse. The way to avoid it is to run like buggeree, or keep your arms well out in front or raise them up high the instant a tackler is imminent, which is not always easy.
