Pathetic comment ROK....
Its a fine line the boys have to tread.
a couple of inches to the left and would have hit his shoulder, nothing in it, but the preceident has been set..
I didn't see it due to radio only. The commentators for all their WA bias didn't go overboard about it. One said he would go and another said nothing in it.
He does seem to have lost any patience for niggle which is a bit stupid showing your weak suit like that to the opposition.

It's possible neither Goodes nor Stenglein will go....they could both fall under the "not hard ebough to constitue low impact" category....ie a free kick the appropriate action. Murphy got ONE week for a deliberate shoulder, not going at the ball, which knocked the bloke out. Goodes one looked very similar to the Burgoyne one except Mitchell was knocked out. What was the "impact rating" for that one?
Having said that, I reckon he'll end up with two.

Insufficient evidence to judge it as reckless (much less intentional) IMO. So negligent conduct, high contact, low impact: whatever that adds up to. However, with near enough to a full game in carryover points, he'll have to miss at least 2 even with a guilty plea, you'd expect.
To be frank, if we're going to lose him for a couple, it's a good time of the year and a good two to miss.
That was a pathetic dive, the kind that makes you a bit embarrassed to be a supporter. Someone commenting mentioned towards the end of the game that he was tending to go for the free rather than just playing. Thats the kind of reputation that comes with diving like he did. I think Goodes has been guilty of pulling this crap more in the past than recently, so it was disappointing to see it creeping back into his game tonight. Give him a week or two for the dive, rather than the bump I say!
I reckon he will get a couple of weeks for it with the current crackdown on it even though I dont think there was a great deal in it to be honest. Pity as he is playing so well at the moment, could really use him against St Kilda next week, but wont really miss him v Melbourne in a couple of weeks as it is almost like playing a bye now.
"You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."
The commentators mentioned that it wasn't front on. I wasn't aware that made a difference, but it seemed as though it does, so he might be OK. He didn't move off his line, he didn't even brace himself for impact, and he looked as though he was trying to toe-poke the ball away. It looked completely accidental. Could be gone for up to two weeks, or it could get thrown out. Hard to say.
