Commentary was very disappointing. Again. ONE day they will get it better balanced. I am almost reconciled to Tony Shaw now being more even minded than most of the so called professional callers, and that's saying something.

Right. I need now to do one thing, and its about time.

I want to apologise to Jarred McVeigh for all the awful things I said about him from the safety of the stands in the past. It eventually occurred to me that perhaps the coaches knew more about the man and his abilities than I did. They were right and I was wrong. There I have said it.

Now all of my so called friends who started giving me stick after last year's Essendon game at the Stadium can now back off. OK? Jarred McVeigh is a wonderful Swan and I love him to bits. Thank you.

Funnily enough I went to the pub for lunch that day and they do a Bangers and Mash to die for. I am yet to try your recipe mainly because I can't cook and finding a women who will cook for me is proving to be a difficult assignment at the moment.

The commentary was not as bad as some previous years out of Perth IMO..

However, I DID lose count of the number of times "open forward line" was mentioned.

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

          Sara Lee can cook.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

I didn't think it was as bad as the Port game, but I got sick of Jason Dunstall saying that the Swans had "unfortunately" won.

Exactly, was bad not so much for the bias but for the same repetitive statements. Maybe because they only use one main commentator he has to use the same material...

He never made the comment about the Eagles being home on air. Of course he's allowed (and expected) to make such an observation off the air.

And yes, it was chalk and cheese when compared to the Port game.
Agree with what you said about Jackovich. I thought he did a reasonable job, but surely the network should be more professional than asking a former player from a club involved in a match to commentate on it. And yes I know it happens all the time, but the point is that it shouldn't, then they wouldn't be in this position.

I have to correct you about the comment about the Eagles being home however. He did say it on air to Dunstall right at the end of the half time break when both were on camera.

Also agree it was FAR better than the Port game.

                      Yep. My thoughts too.

Totally a home ground call. If they weren't wearing a blue and yellow jumper, they didn't get a mention.

Jakovitch calling it over at half time was awesome.....

Totally agree, it wasn't your mood...it was unlistenable, eaglesentric crap all night. I also didn't notice the Port commentary being too bad.

I like Jason Dunstall, but his incessant barracking for The Eagles on sat nite nearly had me throwing my eskimo pie at the Plasma. He just kept repeating what a tragedy it would be for the Eagles if the Swans came over the top...
AFL commentary is generally of a very high standard, especially compared to the dullard commentary of Rugby Union and the false excitement they try to create in Cross Country Wrestling.

                            This is not barracking.

I listened to SEN1116 for the swans vs eagles, game and the commentary was dreadful and biased, the commentators knew all the eagles players names, but when a swans players got possession it sounded like this "hunter to glass, glass does a shocking kick turns it over, the swans player gathers then passes to another swans player" FFS atleast know the names of the other teams.

I'm pretty sure ROK, kicked one of the last goals according to SEN, but it was The Eski.
