I don't think I've ever complained about anyone commentating - maybe except for Eddie Everywhere, but that's a given!!

Believe me, in Sydney, we're very grateful to get a call at all.

Must say his efficiency has been great this year and remember 9 times out of 10 when he goes on his little runs, he draws a player or players and it pays off. Happen a few times last night that resulted in goals to us. He does look so hesitant at times but I think he knows what he is doing.

The Swannies are so patient, will not always chip it long to a contest into our forward 50 but prefer to chip it around until there is a clear lead.
As Luffy said (and I did PM him to confirm this for me - thanks Luffy!), someone else originally said it, Barwick has used it a few times, and that was the first time I'd heard it. I thought it was hilarious - and so did the people around me when I repeated it.

Like I said in the thread about "getting rid of leo" ... why would you drop one of the best defenders in the business? He works 10x harder than Dunks ever did and does an incredible job on blokes twice his size. Plus he's probably kicked more career goals than Dunks, but don't quote me

Personally, when he gets the ball and starts ducking and weaving, another grey hair pops out of my temple. It's edge-of-the-seat stuff.

Annie, I enjoy reading your posts and share your unhealthy admiration for Goodes and Magic, but comparing Leo to Dunks is just something I can't tolerate.

Dunks may have kicked like a 3-legged mule, but he knew his limitations and was a rock in defence. Would love to have him in our team right now! (If we could rewind his age)

I was just using Dunks as an example. My favourite games of times past are when Dunks came forward to kick a goal. I used to take bets from the people around me as to whether or not he's kick it - I got a lot of free drinks. (Funny ... I was doing that again last night every time Blind Barry lined up!!)

Leo knows his limitations and is a rock in defence - his ducking and weaving gives me grey hairs. 9 times out of 10 he makes the right decision. There's nothing wrong with our defence now - just like there was nothing wrong with our defence when Dunks and Roosey were playing.

Deadly, it's a totally different game now. If Dunks were playing today, every time the ball got within 30m of him, the whistle would be blown and he'd be pinged for something - plus, I think that in todays game the guys work (read: run) a lot harder and it's an all-round faster game - despite our attempts at creating stoppages at every opportunity.

But yes, I'd love Dunks back. Unfortunately I don't have a time machine and we have to adore who we have now.

Luffy - tell Micky Maclean he is a loser. He is entitled to say whatever he wants about Leo's decision making but referring to him as a junkie is not very nice and i am sure Leo would not appreciate that!!

Surely you jest. If not, then look for a sense of humour, it helps when you are a Swans supporter.

the bloke on the telly must have said 'its all about hitting the target" at least 1000 times, almost to the point where you could tell when he was gunna say it...

Anyone who complains about the Swans being a 'dour', 'boring', 'drab', 'predictable' side isn't watching Leo Barry enough.

If the name of the game is entertainment, watching him is more white-knuckle than going on the Top Thrill Dragster. If the name of the game is winning, I would rather have him in our back 6 than 90% of defenders in the comp.

Most players get safer and play more within their limitations as they get older. Leo seems to get more adventurous. Watching the Swans will be less fun the day he retires.

I probably took that too far but I work with "so-called junkies" so I am a bit sensitive about that and don't find it humourous at all.

Alison I can totally understand your sentiment but the call was "decision making skills of a junkie" which was not actually calling him a junkie at all. I dont think there would be any commentator or supporter of any team that would ever call any player a junkie. It was said as a bit of a laugh. As I said before its not something I would say seeing Leo is a mate but it was said by Mick all in good fun.

Well i love it when he (Leo) just props in one spot with the ball and an opponent half a metre away trying to decide WTF direction to go next, it's hilarious and nerve-wracking and the comment is pretty funny.
