We want to be either 2nd or 3rd postion, to avoid playing Geelong in the 1st game of the finals... I know i'm getting a head of myself as we have 9 games left but...

The Goodesy hit was soft as butter, nothing in it and he won't even be reported... knock on wood.

I think it would be better to play Geelong in week 1 of the finals- you would go in with no expectation of winning, and with the knowledge you wont meet them again till grand final day. Then a win would set you up for a great shot at the flag, and a loss would at least mean you dont have the problem of meeting them unless you are good enough to get to the decider.
But perhaps the only chance of beating them in September is if you meet them in a prelim final and get them up lots of pressure. I dont think it will matter who we play 1st- would be nice to finish in top two and get a home final week 1 but I think making the 4 is far more important then where you finish in the 4.

It's a huge advantage to play the preliminary final at home so your best chance at doing that is by finishing top 2 where you have to opportunity to play first up at home.

The Dees are not that bad either. They pushed some very good teams to the brink this year. To be honest, last place is harsh given some of their very good efforts with young and inferior cattle.
Exactly!! And since when is winning by 40 points to any team a disappointment? I think that Geelong's thrashing of WC made any other win look close.

had nothing really to gain today and everything to lose, we did the job, nothing impressive, dull as dishwater match, even when it got to 11 i doubted we would actually let them win.

wouldnt drop anyone based on todays game really, no one was that good but its was a nothing game, that did nothing but give us a bit of a break on teams below

Again, another poorly executed/timed bump, not even going for the ball.
I wouldn't be surprised if he actually goes this week, as soft as it was.

As lobster said, strange game, ups and downs for both teams.

Not too many real stand outs, but a few who struggled to get into the game.
I think we were just the better of the fumbling teams, and the Dees lacked a match winning forward or 2, other wise we could've been in trouble late in the game.

Given all the baying for his blood by the media and so called experts, and feral opposition supporters, there should be no way that he be reported or the incident given a passing glance. Even the biased commentators today didn't go on with it and so they shouldn't have either.

His versatility was underlined by the fact he played on and effectively shut down the talls and smalls - Bruce, who he heavied out of the game in the first quarter, Green and Davey . As well as a few neville's i can't be arsed looking up.

Thanks mate. He was one of the ones that seemed to slacken off after the first quarter. Hopefully Stewie Maxfield got in his ear in the sheds after the game.

I don't think he said he hates him, I think we all agree that Goodes is taking some unnecessary risks with the high contact, and will be suspended if he keeps doing it. he now has points and will not get a reprimand again.

I thought he was going for the ball, but then decided to raise his shoulder for the upcoming contact. If he continued his path in trying to go for the footy then it wouldn't rate a mention.
