Saw it on the news today and my immediate reaction was Bazza silly, but that's it. No case to answer.

On the other hand, Wakelin, who in my opinion is a germ and always has been, took the biggest dive since Matthew Lloyd's heyday and should be embarrassed by the footage.
He even left it too late to push for selection on the Olympic diving team for Beijing.

Hall has been an average player since the 2006 grand final. He's had some good games but they have been too few and generally against opponents at the wrong end of the ladder.

Barry Hall of the Sydney Swans Career AFL Stats

Remarkably, his stats appear to have reverted to looking quite similar to his St Kilda days when he had anger management issues. Compare 1999 to 2007.

There are three stats above that stand out to me. First is goals - he's down to 2.x goals per game, which is not fabulous from a full forward. He's also not consistently producing as he was in his halcyon years. Second, his frees against last year and this year is actually similar to his goals for!. He's giving away more frees.

Sure he can beat a younger opponent in a team like Melbourne, but he is consistently failing against A and even B grade opponents. Under these circumstances he becomes a LIABILITY because:

          1. His antics intimidate his TEAM MATES, causing them to kick it to him when they shouldn't
          2. This exacerbates the the problem because Hall becomes more frustrated and ill-disciplined at being beaten giving away more free kicks

Is it coincidence that the form and output of the likes of Moore, O'Loughlin and ROK has been down since BBB returned?

Giving away soft free kicks and whacking opponents is too costly in today's fast rebound basketball type play.

He's also making a mockery (along with Goodes) of the Swan's Spartan like 'team' ethos.

In terms of cause, I think it is a mix of lingering frustration and dissapointment from the 2006 GF and natural physical decline.

He is an embarrasment to the club and the development of the game in NSW, many juniors are playing AFL because of the clean and fair appeal of the game compared with moranic behaviour you find at jumior NRL.

After attending a junior NRL game at Mascot in the last couple of weeks and hearing 14 year old refs being call **** etc by parents and managing to avoid the fights - in the crowd ,let alone hearing constant calls for there 11 year olds to get up and punch the kid who just laid a fair tackle.

This is why they come to AFL to avoid the morons over at the NRL and not to watch some idiot throw a punch because of frustration over a percieved lack of free kicks.

The forward line can function perfectly well without Hall as it did when he wasnt there - its the Goodes we miss more. Once Hall starts throwing his arms around and arguing with the umpires it affects the morale of the team.

Isnt lack of discipline - not doing the team thing, which has kept Nick Davis out of this team? How is Barry Halls behaviour any different

            Cheers

Reading between the lines there is enough to suggest Hall will be spending time in Canberra, regardless of what happens at the tribunal.

I think the club has had a gutful of him and his behaviour on Saturday certainly contributed to the dysfunctional forward line Roos was talking about.

They've set the benchmark with Davis so let's see if anyone is bigger than the club itself.

SYDNEY was furious on Saturday night when Barry Hall reverted to the Hall of old, for the second time in four matches.

Nothing of note was said on the record, but many at the club were angered with his ordinary performance against Collingwood at ANZ Stadium.

The word "selfish" was used more than once to describe his night, and that is a word the Swans loathe like few others.

He was never a strong contested mark and relies on big man first five metres speed. He has lost a yard (or metre), big defenders are sticking with him and applying close pressure and this seems to have brought back the indiscipline and lack of focus. In regard to his histrionics he's becoming a bad version of Richo.

It's all over the morning shows. (yes I'm stuck in front of the TV this morning again.

Hard to tell whether solid contact was made.
                    Wakelin definitely took a dive.
But I feel Hall may have some more thinking time on his hads over the next week or 2, just for being stupid.

he has 90 points on his head, so he doesn't need many more to go.

I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

                            The guy is indefensible.

It won't be long before we see an online petition to remove him from our team.

How he is allowed to behave like he does on the field (I'm not talking about the punches, elbows, etc) and get away with I do not know. Constantly giving away stupid free kicks, abusing umpires, etc.

It's clearly one rule for some... at our club these days. One particular player can feel harshly done by.

Can the leadership group and coach please show some spine?

If this tool remains in our leadership group beyond this week I'll spew up!
"As a player he simply should not have been able to do the things he did. Leo was a 185cm, 88kg full-back and played on some of the biggest, fastest and best full-forwards of all time, and constantly beat them." Roos.
Leo Barry? you star! We'll miss ya, ''Leapin''.

                              Hall and Swans

Even without the punch Halls was dreadful. He gave away stupid frees with pushes in the back you could have seen from the SCG. Then he spent most of his time yelling at the Umps. Yeah he got some bad calls but that's footy. And why does he stand at the back of packs waiting for he ball to hit him on the head? Why doesn't he crash a few packs and get the ball on the deck. Might make the defenders think twice about standing in front of him. And hey, here's an idea. Y not lead out and be in front?
Hall seemed to be demanding the ball and when the Swans needed to lift all the team got Hall focussed and kept kicking to three on ones. They should have dragged hall as soon as the Wakelin thing. Swans were shocking I left at 3/4 time.
But Kirk was awesome so was jude.
And while the umpiring was not to blame can ayone explain the free dead in front in third quarter. Seemed to be called against LRT but I watched it five times and couldn't work it out. And holding the ball seemed to be rule for the night.
