According to all the clubs comments so far this decision was made by Roos only (and backed by the leadership group) on the advice of the club physcologist who has been working with Hall on his anger management.

The incident is just a by product that at this stage both Hall and the club can't be sure he won't lash out someone on the field again in the next few weeks.

Thanks DST. Exactly what I heard Roos say on Fox Sports.
..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

Spot on Al. I reckon Roos would have been mighty upset with the big bad one long before this latest "incident" happened.

It's worth re-reading what Roos had to say about Davis in the context of his comments on Hall.

The Sydney coach added he had no problem with Hall's criticism of the club decision.

Hall told Fairfax newspapers that he did not think being stood down was the solution.

"Neither of us (Roos or Hall) are probably qualified to determine what's right or wrong for him, so that's where I've got to take the advice of the experts," Roos said.

"I'm happy to do that, based on what I saw on Saturday night as well.

"I don't have a problem with what Hally said today, it's certainly not a case of Sydney Swans versus Barry Hall.

When I saw Roos say this on tv I said to my wife "hypocrite". When she asked what I meant, I just mentioned Nick Davis and 6 weeks in the reserves.

No, but I've seen thugs beat people to a pulp, sometimes just because they like a fight. Drug addicts tend to hurt themselves.

We still don't know how long Hall is out for.

Try telling that to the mums and dads and brothers and sisters who come home and the TV is missing, knowing they will have to go to Cash Converters in the morning to retrieve it for the umpteenth time. Or the money which goes 'missing', the jewelery which disappears etc etc.

From what I can tell Hall has been banned, nothing about him being dropped. Is that right? Will he play in the seconds?

His mad swings at jaws are kinda stupid but not as stupid as the way he runs around flapping his arms, yelling at teammates for not getting out of his way, the 'huh, what me?' gestures as someone fslls to the ground at his feet. I travelled to the MCG on the back of the Hawthorn thrashing only to watch Hall make a complete idiot of himself. Sure I'dlike to see him back to his best but I don't think the psychiatrist is the man to do it alone.

I reckon a good dose of reality in the 2's you'd think would tell if he is really capable of the team thing on a bleak winter afternoon with a bunch of kids and cast offs. Him and Davis could camp out in the forward pocket and...

Yes, I'm aware of those circumstances and know of a couple of people in similar circumstances. They are less likely to go out and beat someone up, particularly on the sporting field, which is what we're talking about.

Not only themselves they hurt others also.
So you just stood there and watched some one get beaten to a pulp?.They are not thugs they are cowards who usually target people perceived to be weaker then them selves.

You bought up the drug addict issue so we can compare the two.

Who do you think rips hand bags of old ladies and then beats them when they dont let go,drug addicts.
Who do you think uses a syringe to hold up stores, drug addicts...etc etc the list is endless NMW.
