I thought after the game that it was definitely the clangers that killed us. Then I checked the stats today and yes, Sydney had 46 but the Pies had 41 - not much of a difference.
I find this very surprising. Frees against were 20 Sydney and 16 Pies. That's already four of the five clanger difference. So that leaves the rest. Now I swear I saw Sydney mess up possession way more times than Collingwood. Kicks and hand passes went straight to the opposition way more times than it went to us. Both teams dropped marks and the like but even then, I still think we were ahead on that front.Captain, I am detecting large quantities of win in this sectorComment

We made more clangers in our half of the field than they did in theirs. And that ended up pretty costly.Comment

Agree on that, but what I'm saying is that I'm sure we made more clangers than the Pies. Way more. "Way" as in say, 30-50% more.
