    Clangers

We had FORTY SIX clangers against Collingwood.:How can we expect to win with numbers like that:
    Jolly had 6
    Hall 5
Kirk,Kennelly,Ablett,Barry,Bird,LRT, and Everett each had 3

J Bolton,Bevan,O'Keefe,Malceski, and Jack each had 2 and

Mattner,Playfair.C Bolton. and Buchanan had 1 each

Only four players not on this list.
This is an area that we have had high stats previously but have got away with it...not this time !
Collingwood had 41 but still managed to beat us easily

they are magnified in the backline i.e. by Leo, Tadgh, etc las night.

Imagine if Hall was a defender!!
"As a player he simply should not have been able to do the things he did. Leo was a 185cm, 88kg full-back and played on some of the biggest, fastest and best full-forwards of all time, and constantly beat them." Roos.
Leo Barry? you star! We'll miss ya, ''Leapin''.

Lucky Goodes wasn't playing then - he's recorded 113 more clangers than any other Swan since they began recording them...

Are free kicks counted as clangers?

we also had the ball for longer than them, at least late in the game the time in possession was almost 60-40% if i recall correctly. We had less disposals, which means we must just hold the ball still a hell of a lot.

It doesn't excuse our players holding back and not creating pressure themselves.

Yeah but be fair - it's because he has also probably had the most number of posessions.

He has also played as an undersized ruckman and as a key defender for quite a bit too, where you'd rack up one or two more free kicks than normal that may add to the tally.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

According to the radio Hall gave away 5 frees in the first half, so he didn't miss a target then.

BTW, with frees included, the ruckman will normally have the most clangers IMO, with the unpredictable interpretations of the ruck rules, it's anyones guess what will and won't be picked out as a free.

Sometimes the looks on the face of ruckmen after a free kick is given in a contest is priceless, it's one of the few occassions where you really couldgenuinely hear a whistle and have no idea if you are the victim or culprit in the mind of the umpire.

They need to change the rules and ignore incidental high contact during ruck duels.

You mean like the look on ROK's face when he got pinged for HTB in the 1st qtr because he got to his feet?
